I just received this wonderful book from my sister who found out I was recently diagnosed as gluten intolerant and needed to cut back on sugar as well. Real sad since I collect a LOT of dessert cookbooks that I can bake from, but not eat from! This book is a Godsend to people like me! Ms. McKenna has writtern a lucsious dessert book from her famous NY bakery by the same name that contains vegan, gluten-free, and mostly sugar-free recipes. Lots of pictures and comments from the stars that love to buy from her. All the ingredients are given in the front and how to obtain them if you can't find them locally. Most you can. She does use spelt in a few recipes and explains how it differs from gluten-free and how some people can tolerate this ancient ancestor to flour, but some can't, so substitutions are given. I have only found a few recipes that contain the spelt. Back to the photos....they are so over the top delicious real looking I want to eat the pages! Hey sis.....thanks so much for thinking of me and my sweet tooth!
