Baby Lock Imagine Mechanical Sewing Machine

I enjoyed owning the Baby Lock Imagine Jet Air Serger Sewing Machine model BLE1AT but have sold it to simplify my sewing life. I will leave this review for those who sew alot.
I purchased it for the jet air threading and also the needle threading features. This is maybe my sixth serger. It is my second Baby Lock serger. I rarely use advanced features. I like using a serger for the trimmed neat seams and speed of sewing. I also like this one because I am getting a dependable tension with a variety of fabric weights.
This is the easiest to thread serger that I have found, which is a major selling point with any serger. I am a little disappointed though because sometimes I have to poke the thread into the hole several times to get the jet air feature to grab it. It does work better using tweezers to hold the thread instead of just my fingers. The thread experiences a little resistance going into the hole and I have to sometimes work with it to get it far enough down for the air to grab it. But I cannot see how they could make a serger any easier threading.
Another nice feature is the pressure foot ability to raise the toe with a flick of my thumb in order to place the fabric under it to start sewing. I do wish the marks for seam widths were labeled instead of only having lines. I have to use a measurer to find how I want to guage my seam width and then place tape to mark it.
The instruction book is very easy to read and understand. The video is also easy to follow. This has been a very easy serger to learn to use. Some sergers are so difficult to learn they are returned or sit in a closet. If you enjoy sewing regularly you will put this one to good use.
Is it worth the expensive price tag when you only do basic serger seams? Maybe not. But if you want the very best machine and the features are subtantial enough for your projects, then this is a quality serger.
Mine did not have the newest wave stitch feature because I did not think I would use it. Even so, this machine is probably more than my projects require. I could have gotten by with less, but I enjoyed the ease of use that this machine offers, and also the dependability.

This is the neatest serger machine that I have ever owned and I have had two previous machines.
I am a senior person and I was looking for the self threading version since my eyes aren't so great anymore. I am amazed that the thread goes right where I want it go with just a flip of the lever. I also have a built in needle threader.I purchased my machine from EBAY and was very pleased with seller and how great the machine turned out to be. It was just like new and everything she said it was able to do. It also came with all the extra feet which alllows me to do many great stitches. I am very pleased with the different stitches and how smooth it runs. I noticed that it is not any louder than a normal sewing machine and no vibration.So if you are looking for a great serger go for the Imagine by Babylock and you won't ever regret it. I had an older Babylock BL402 serger and I just loved it because it had the free arm feature and I do miss that feature, but none of the newer models have a free arm table that I know of and I did search quite a few machines. My Husband got me a new Janome Harmony serger which I resold without using and that was because I love Babylock. What else can I say to help you make up your mind on your next purchase of a serger. GO FOR THE IMAGINE BABYLOCK SERGER. You won't ever regret that you did.

I like the serger that I was able to get through EBay. To buy a new one would have been out of the question, they cost too much. But the price was great and the transition was smooth.

Had the Baby Lock Proline for 17 years--upgraded for the automatic threader and tension control as I don't see as well as I used to. Still having trouble with the automatic needle threading--doesn't always work but I had same problem on Proline. Opened the box, watched the video, then sat down and sewed--I love it!

america, this is the mothership of all sergers. babylock, are u kidding! this is the serger to have bar none. you get what u pay for ladies. With this serger u start serging right out the box. no tensions, the machine threads itself. omg, did i just run out of things to serge? no headaches! My experience with the vendor was excellent. i recieved my serger as it was advertised, brand spankin new and in the time frame that it was promised. Will definitely buy from them again. holla!
