Industry Reviews PreS Food, toys, and clothing are featured in two appealing board books. Each page displays a vividly colored painting of a simple object positioned jauntily on a bright, flat background. The circles, squares, stripes, and other geometric elements within the pictures will attract a baby's attention. The items depicted range from the familiar (rattle and keys in Home) to those outside the immediate experience of very young children (sunglasses and a kite in Shopping). Each item is labeled with bold, childlike letters that dance across the page. These cheery titles, while not strongly thematic, will be welcome at point-and-say sessions for youngsters up to 24 months. Darla Remple, Worcester Public Library, MA Lopate
