Baby Einstein: Baby Santa's Music Box (DVD, 2002)

Here's another GREAT Baby Einstein video, but this time there's a Christmas theme. Also included are some Hanukkah songs and images, but the overlying idea here is Christmas. My son loved the reindeer segments, and also the video of ornaments and moving Santa toys. However, this DVD is close to a half hour, unlike the other videos that run closer to 45 minutes. For a special holiday treat, this is a great DVD. However, you might choose one that you can watch year round instead...to get your money's worth!

even for school aged children to watch as they prepare for the Holidays..such a delight as the music is world-wide for this wonderful time of the year. Thanks for a great price and speedy delivery.

Its like visual crack for babies! Just lights & sounds, but it keeps them hooked. Personally i think its EXTREMELY ANNOYING! But its not for me. Overall, its good for the kids.

Excellent for babies. Great background music for adults. Very well done. I love these Baby Einstein produces, they are wonderful.

The name "Baby Einstein" can trick parents into believing it's okay or even good for their babies to watch it, but the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no television AT ALL to children under 2 because so many studies have proven its harmful effects on children. Studies have shown that:

- for every hour of television a baby watches a day, their chances of acquiring an attention deficit disorder increases by 10%.
- among babies ages 8 months to 16 months, every hour spent daily watching programs such as 'Brainy Baby' or 'Baby Einstein' translated into six to eight fewer words in their vocabularies as compared with other children their age."
- brain wave activity in babies is slower when watching television than when sleeping.

"Signing Time" (Two Little Hands Productions) DVDs is an excellent option for OCCASIONAL video viewing because communicating in sign language with your child is proven to:

- reduce frustration and tantrums
- accelerate language development
- promote parent-child bonding

Last thing for new moms - carrying newborn babies (in arms or next to body) an extra 3 hours a day resulted in 40% less crying. So carrying baby in a carrier or sling can help calm fussy babies!
