Baby Bargains by Alan Fields, Denise Fields (2005, Paperback)

The Baby Bargains book was recommended to me by another expectant mother. I don't know what I would have done without this book because it narrowed my search to products based on quality, safety, and affordability. I didn't have to guess what to buy for my child; it rated everything for me. I would highly recommend this book particulary for a first child.

This book was great for us first time parents! It had a lot of useful tips and hints that will help us save a bundle when preparing for our new arrival. The book was in great condition and arrived very quickly!

Great book! Overall it gives accurate information regarding the baby products. This book was very instrumental in our purchasing of baby products and supplies. I do not regret buying any of the items that were recommended. We feel that with the research already performed by the authors we were able to make informed and smart choices. We now have a second child and I have not had to replace anything. I do, however, disagree with a change they made from the previous edition regarding the Baby Trend high chair. It was a top pick in the previous edition and it was given a B- in this one. The problem, they said, is the pad. I have had no problems with the pad and I wash it on gentle cycle and air dry. The tray can be placed on and off using one hand and has never been kicked off by my large and strong child. They recommend the Fisher Price Aquarium Healthy Care high chair but it's bright colors and ruffles are a bit much for my taste.
All and all this book is highly informative and I have given it to many pregnant friends who also love it.

The book arrived exactly as described. Quick, easy and inexpensive. I bought the book on a recommendation from a friend and it has helped me choose items for my baby due in March.

This book is great at expalining to you differnt things you can buy for your baby. I was recommended this book - and i would suggest it to ANYONE!

I bought this book as a present for my sister, who was expecting at the time. I'd purchased a previous incarnation of the book in 2001 when I was expecting my twins. My husband and I deemed the book as our baby equipment bible! All our major purchases, such as cribs, crib mattresses, strollers, etc., were purchased according to the reviews gleaned from it, and were never dissatisfied with our purchases. My sister and hubby have now benefited from the book's reviewed items and have, thus, made their purchases. They are now the proud parents of a healthy baby girl!

This book is an excellent reference for everthing you need to know about new baby purchases and then some! This book is not only easy to read , but inexpensive. This book is truly worth its weight in gold a must for all expentant mothers and fathers. Unable to find a con about this book. Only pro's!

Having this book in 1999 made figuring out what to buy and what not to buy a breeze. So I'm having another child so there was no question whether I needed this book. Every expectant mother should make this a staple in her reading material. This is a brilliant collection of material that is so necessary, no parent should pass up. It could literally save you hundreds of dollars by choosing the very best necessities, at the best prices and for the best reasons to buy certain products. After reading the topics that you require for your bumpkin, you won't have any questions whether you've chosen the right products. A necessity indeed!

My wife and I used the book extensively. It contained a wealth of information and was easily read. The grading system was especially helpful. The book's size made it perfect to fit in a bag to take with us and snatch moments of reading on the subway, doctors' offices, etc.
