This is an awesome life-changing and affirming book.
This book got me firmly back on track spiritually some years back when it came out. I have probably bought eight copies since because I always wind up giving my much-loved, dog-eared versions away. Read this book if you are thinking about embracing Buddhism or simply finding out more about it. Remember too that Buddhist Mind Training principles can make a good Christian great, good Catholic great, good Jew great - and so on and so forth. The goal is not to convert, it is to enrich. Das is a Jew from New York. He is a boomer who followed his heart east in the seventies and was blessed in being able to find and learn from some great masters. So if you'd rather read the fundamentals from someone who committed himself than than purchase a plane ticket, ride a Yak cart and drink butter tea for 20 years, buy this book! It changed ... and continues to change ... my life. It is (gasp) the most important book I have ever owned.
