Great band, great product.I have Mental Jewelry, Throwing Copper and bought the new one (Songs from the Black Mountain), so Awake: The Best of Live [CD & DVD] - Live (CD 2004), was the perfect compilation for completing my collection.

In the 90s, there was no shortage of breakthrough rock acts who had something to say and the musical chops to back up their lyrical venting. In short, these acts helped bring emotion and something real back to rock and roll. One of the acts who enjoyed quite a bit of success over about a five year period in the 1990s was Pennsylvania rockers Live. Beginning with their 1994 sophomore effort Throwing Copper, the band released a series of albums that eventually went platinum. OK, I've taken some much-deserved time away from here, and I think now is a great time to write a new review. Before this year, I had only heard a few songs from Live, and they were far between. However, after listening to various concert bootlegs I decided that I needed this album. Most of the hits are included, along with a couple of non-singles as well as two previously unreleased recordings. The songs are in chronolgical order as well, which makes for an easier review.
