It is a very interesting book. i like to talk about accounting, i work as an accountant for 23 years. Accounting always start with bookkeeping, you have a good set of books, and good filling system you are in business, i am from Canada so i can not use much of the book for this review. Anyway the book is much to advance for a small business, but the same rules applies.
1 = first selling on ebay or the net does apply as a small business.
2 = if you sale on the net, apply on www.poste canada.ca for your small business number which will give you a discount when you send your items by mail.
3 = decide on a name for your business. you never know it could go far, and you will be prepare.
4 = keep all of your invoices. receivable and accounts payable.
5 = decide on your year end (fiscal end). it could be anytime with in the 12 month in a year.
6 = when you do your income tax you have to include a full statement. Look in your province, you could be eligible for a small business grant.
Canada is on a accrued basic. you are charge for a service rendered or sale even if you have not recieved the money. i bought the book for the pleasure of reading it. very usefull.
Good luck to all.
