Audiovox D1708 7 in. Portable DVD Player

It was advertised other places for much more. I found it here for so much less!! I have been an ebay member for the last 6 years now. I have sold many items but I still get that same feeling when I find a killer deal! This was one of those times too! Over $100 cheaper than anywhere else. The item works great and has been entertaining my 2 boys on long trips. 4 trips so far with no problems!!

I really think this is excellent i bought this as a christmas present for my 4 year old daughter and she knows how to set it up and watches her movies and its portablr so wherever we go she can watch movies and it keeps her extremely happy. This is a wonderful system and a great price,

My husband is currently deployed & he's asking for a protaable DVD player so he can watch movies on his down time.

I have recently bought Audiovox D1708 Portable DVD Player off of eBay. I would not pay a retail price for it, as I don't think it worth the price, but eBay's $40 is perfect. This is a great player, with about 2.5 hrs of battery life. Good sound quality via speakers and great quality via headphones. Good picture quality. It's a bit bulky and heavy, especially when battery is attached, however if there's an outlet, battery can be detached.
Another great thing is that it can be hacked to open All Regions which was a key for me when choosing a player. Just make sure, when buying on eBay, to get a remote for it - otherwise hack won't work.
Overall, nothing fancy, but strong 'Good' for this player.

its great because good for travel which I still travel and kill my time to avoid boring. I suggest anyone should buy for their worth time.

We've had ours for about a year or so. It's never let us down. When our other 2 dvd players were on the fritz and wouldn't play a disc, this one always would. The battery does last about 2 1/2 hours but we plug it in for the most part. The only possible problem is that one of the two headphone jacks also lets sound come out the speakers at the same time, I don't know if it's supposed to do that, but it's not an issue with us. We just bought another one because this one was so reliable.

Heard that, of all similar brands, this one was high on the list of favorites.
Price was right, quality as expected and condition new as described.

Had it since May 07 and works fine at the price I paid WOOOOW
what a deal :-] If you want a player that you can injoy at home or on the road this is it.

It has a large screen and is in perfect condition. The DVD player came with the different power cords, as well as the carrying case. Also, I received it in 2 days!

i think this is a nice little dvd player for people on the go, that have kids. if you don't have a entertainment system in you vehicle, this will work just fine to keep the kids occupied. can be plugged into lighter receptical or you can plug it into you ac outlet at home. i live in florida, and from june to november, hurricanes and tropical storms are a certainty. needless to say we floridians often have extended power outages. this dvd player can run off of it's battery pack, and keep the entire family entertained.

I am just playing with it now. the sound of the dvd spinning is a bit loud. super speakers, very nice picture considering the size of the frame. nice battery life. very light so it is conveinent to carry around where ever you go. for the money it was an ok buy.
i had much more expensive that die in months. this time i won't cry over a $200 player.

Great product. The color and sound are sharp and clear. It is easy to attach to the back of the seat and is easy to use.
I would reccomend this product to anyone looking for a portable DVD player. And the duel screens are an amazing feature. Great for the whole family on trips.

This is a great item it plays dvds with true clarity and sound.The battery seems to last a long time. And the overall quality is great. I would definatly by this product again.

Bought this with 2 screens and after 3 uses and a few days after the warranty ran out (only 3 mos) one screen went dark orange on main unit. They want $90 plus shipping to fix it at Audiovox who was no help at all. Try reaching them for assistance (impossible.) I would avoid this product. It only makes a good door stop. We paid almost $200 new with the 2 screens and all the accessories.

REcieved as is broken without cord. Was told there were no refunds before purchase however it is totally unfixable and it should have never been sold at all.

I bought this unit on eBay from someone who never opened it. By the time I got it and gave it to my son as a gift some months later, the battery would not charge. According to the manual, the battery becomes dysfunctional if it is completely discharged. Of course, you would have to open the package to read the instructions to learn this.
I explained the situation to Audiovox and asked if they would send a new battery at cost. No luck.
Verify that the battery still charges! And know that once charged, it needs to be charged every month or two if it is in storage.
Other than that, the quality-price is excellent. Very nice picture, decent sound.

I have been looking for one I could afford the only thing wrong with it I've found so far is the d/c battery pack dosen't work or take a charge other than that I love it and the kids watch it more then I get too thank you and god bless
