Audio-Technica ATH-A700 Consumer Headphones

Bass is heavy as noted in other reviews, but manageable and not distorted. Not as comfortable as I hoped but acceptable. Product design is really nice and the cord is fantastic. Sounds great with portable audio devices without pre-amp. Really makes you want higher res samples immediately. Only thing I would change for the same price point is a two section cord of the same material with a locking connector. This would allow a short cord for PADs and the long cord for home use. The long cord is too much walking about. Sound isolation both directions is excellent. Need more time in the cans to fully review audio performance and fatigue concerns.

the headphone is very big, so it is inconvenient to carry around. No cases included. a little bit heavy. Good outside sound reduction and audio quality. Also it is very comfortable to wear them so that you don't have to worry if you are going to wear it for a long time.

These did live up to other reviews I've read. They are a little
on the bright side but after running them for about 5 hours I can
already hear them breaking in nicely.I'm sure these will sound very nice .
they also shut out a good deal of background noise ( no jet engines or canons as of such ) also did not notice any superious noise from wire or head movement.These are also very loud compaired to my AKG240DF's MY shanling PH3000 HP amp had no problem drivin these ( though it had no problem with the AKGs')IT was just a small amount of volume made a big change in output.
I also liked the detail with these phones ( these though are closed HP's so there is less to interfer from out side noise ). Comfort was not an issue ,the 3 point head band worked nicely. all in all not bad for a gently used pair of HPs. The only problem is that the seller did not provide a 1/4" addapter. these HPs terminate with a 3.5mm (1/8") plug .But I've always keeped these things around for just such times.

The headphones are amazing in sound quality, audiophile grade of higher end headphones. Creates a surround stage theater like or live like performance compared to other fine quality headphones owned and used. It even outperforms my beloved sennheisser 515 audiophile grade headphones which is highly praised for it's capability for it's price range. The pricing on this headphone is phenominal. It's worth much more than it's MSRP and a steal at the discounted price. It is made high grade, fine materials and very comfortable. Only upgrade needed is the cover on the earpad, I prefer the cloth material sennheisser utilize over the general foam like material used on the outer covering. Nothing wrong with material, just a preference. Item is outstanding build. I highly recommend this headphone for audiophile music use and home theater HD use on home and laptop use, many applications. I stack this audiophile headphone against most higher end headphones worth 2-3 times it's MSRP.
