The center channel speaker is critical to any home theaters performance because its called upon to reproduce up to 85% of the dialogue and 65% of the special effects! The 273m C is ideally suited to this role, as its the most flexible center channel speaker we know of! Its rear mounted controls include a continuously variable High Frequency adjustment along with Boundary Compensation and Midrange Presence switches. These adjustments allow you to precisely balance its sound after the 273m C is placed horizontally on top of or below the TV, which changes its sonic characteristics. Theyre also useful to compensate for overly forward or dull sounding movies. Additionally, they enable you to match the 273m C to just about any other front speakers you might wish to use, should you not buy a complete System 270 THX. The adjustable tilting base lets you aim the 273m C at the prime listening position to further optimize performance.
