The Art of Painting Animals on Rocks by Lin Wellford (1994, Paperback)

Being a artist , I decided to branch out and tried painting animals on rocks.I loved it and was very successful at selling them. This was one of my favorite books, and after losing everything in Katrina, I am attempting to replace my art books.I would recomend this book to anyone wishing to try something new. Victoria

This is a great book with wonderful pictures and easy to understand. My family and I had a blast hunting for rocks to paint on. With anything else, practice, practice, practice. If your hunting a fun way to get into painting this may be the way your looking for. A few acrylics, a very few brushes and a rock. No expensive canvas, and other equipment like easels to buy. Lin Wellford has tried very hard to explain the details of painting on rocks to painters as well as the folks who have never painted anything before. Great book for beginners!!

This is the first book everyone should buy when they just start this hobby.. This is a great starter book. Very simple ideas for everyone including kids. So I suggest this one for everyone.. Enjoy..

This is an easy-to-follow book that makes it look (to others when they see your rocks) like you are an artist. It's EASY to follow, looks great and gives you something to do with all those 'souvenir' rocks you have picked up here and there...maybe in your field after plowing. What a great way to turn 'junk' into treasure! You can't possibly be disappointed in this! Enjoy!

Excellent seller and excellent book... this is my favorite out of the 3 and it has great ideas with great instructions.

This book shows and explains in detail of how to draw, do and paint.You can get rocks at a creek, river, or landscaping business.
Don't be discouraged at how it looks in the beginning, because the end results
are absolutely wonderful.
I am not an artist, but this book only makes me want to do more.Everything
you make is your own creation and you will be amazed at what you create.
You can even trace them and then use a transfer sheet, to make it a little easier, and you can also use stencils for drawing.You can also draw it on a
sheet of paper first to give you the feel of how to draw it on the rock.
They make for wonderful gifts for holidays or any occassion, and it means more
because you created them.
She has quite a few books available, of which I have 4, and hope to create
alot of different rocks to also have at a yard sale or a craft sale.

This was recommended as one of the best books on this subject, I hardly agree.

Beautiful pictures, good instructions, I'll look for more books by this author.

A great step by step book, easy to follow. Paintings turn out like the pictures in the book.I highly recommend this book for someone wanting to learn to become a great painting artist.
