Art Clay Silver and Gold by Art Clay World USA Inc (2003, Paperback)

Jackie Truty is the president of Art Clay World USA and this country's top expert on Art Clay Silver and Gold clays. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable on the subject matter, she also is an excellent teacher. The first part of the book is general instruction, tips and tricks from Jackie. The remainder is a series of projects, mostly from other metal clay artists. Some of the instructions are clearer than others. All the photography is excellent - detailed and inspiring.

I like that the book had a very in depth section on just getting started, so that beginners like me didnt feel totally confused. I like some of the projects, and am getting the supplies to complete them in other auctions. The book also covered firing on a gas stovetop, so those of us who cant afford kilns still can finish these kinds of projects.
All in all a good read.

This is a good reference on how to use Art Metal Clay. Jackie Truty is one of the foremost experts in the field and explains how and why with many examples and pictures. Easy to follow, very thorough.

This book has great instructions for working with precious metal clays. It is written so that the novice understands the steps. It also explains how to use basic equipment rather than the expensive equipment that is available. It has projects that are sesigned for beginners and up, and the projects can be adapted to your own originals. I recommend this book for anyone interested is working with precious metal clays.

I bought this book because it looked like the "Bible" about Art Clay Silver and Gold. I looked throughout E-Bay and this book kept popping up as one of the leaders in information I needed to learn how to do the craft. It is very informative and I look forward to getting started on this type of art. It was very easy to read. You can highlight areas of interest. It was informative and yet specific.

very helpful for learning to work with metal clay. loaded with great ideas for new projects. step by step instructions and large color photos of finished projects.

The book has lots of great info and tips about using the clay, moulding, different products, finishing etc, but in terms of the actual projects in it, i can only say that i would make one of them, the rest are really not that appealing.
A good book for learning silver clay work, not for copying patterns.

It has lots of good info and unique designs. The designs were a bit more elaborate that i would make but i am a beginner so this probably was not the perfect book for me to purchase. But for future designs, it will be perfect.
