The Art of the Automobile by Dennis Adler (2000, Hardcover)

My husband is quite the car enthusiast and this was a Christmas gift that he is getting a lot out of. The subtitle is "The 100 Greatest Cars" and contains a 1911 Mercer Raceabout, 1968 Ferrari and Ford Shelby Mustang. . .and everything unique in between. Beautiful color pictures, along with tight history and descriptions just make it a book to drool over (unless you can afford the actual cars!). You could call it a "coffee table" book except that it contains so much info and pictures of original cars that it is more of a reference book defining THE cars that shaped the automotive industry.. . .including a 1946 Volkswagen Beetle!
