Reviews Review created: 07/23/08 by: It is a little technical in some areas that someone with an engineering degree would appreciate, but it has a lot of good info for beginning hams. The book is everything you need to know for the exam. Passing was easy with just a single read of the text. I didn't feel that the book covered everyday radio operation as much as the ideal situation and theory but I doubt there is a better alternative. Overall a good value for the cost and a must for anyone not in a structured class on the subject. Review ID: 10000000006701957 Was this review helpful? The Amateur Radio Relay League published the newest revision of this book with new updated material and requirements. It is compiled and written by seasoned "Hams" and is a good reference to start working towards your license. Taking the test can be a stressful event, but learning the basics from this book can be a good confidence builder. Also get a receiver and do a lot of listening. So get started on the great world of Ham radio! Review ID: 10000000006216007 Was this review helpful? Report this review |
