Armored Core 4 (Xbox 360, 2007)

Although the game has been out for a couple years I decided to give it a try. Figuring that 360 graphics and online capability would make this game worth a try, I quickly found the game to be unchanged since it's PS1 days. Armored Core 4's controls, camera angles and the lack of fluidity contributed to it being quickly shelved. The soundtrack was a disaster to say the least and monotonous tone created more anxiety than the suspense they were going for. The story mode was predictable and very much what you come to expect with a mech game like Armored core. I felt like they didn't really explore the possibilities of a new gaming system, instead it looked as if they had merely touched up older an older version threw in some levels that looked slightly different. This could have been a good game if they had taken some risks instead of hiding safely in what they consider to be an old standby, which ultimately just makes it boring.
