The Aristocrats (DVD, 2006, Unrated)

The concept is simple - top comedians tell the same joke, "The Aristocrats", in their own style and with their own filthy mannerisms and words. The result is a very guilty pleasure as the Aristocrats DVD is filthy and funny. The cast is stupendous (Gilbert Godfried is hands down the funniest!) and the DVD is well worth the purchase because the extra footage and scenes are as funny (if not better) than the films!

A great movie for a humorous date or a night with some beers and BBQ.

WE RENTED THIS MOVIE, IF WE HAD ACTUALLY BOUGHT IT I THINK I WOULD DEMAND MY MONEY BACK. THE "COMEDY" IN THIS "FILM" IS HARD TO FIND AND PAINFUL. THE FILTH AND VULGARITY WAS HORRIFIC AT BEST. THE BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY EVER....SERIOUSLY, EVER!!!

After hearing the hype I bought the DVD. Am I the only one who was offended and dissapointed? It was too vulgar & disgusting to be mildly amusing much less hysterical as the critics would have you believe. I don't get the rave reviews. The running joke was told in the most sick crude ways, I kept waiting for the next comic to be funny . I turned it off half way through after realizing I wasn't going to laugh. All these talented comics and this is the best they could come up with?

I liked the extra features which were almost funnier than the movie itself. They are also longer. I bought this movie after renting it as I wanted to lend it to some friends.

I would give it a rating lower than poor if I could . I bought it because I heard from a source that I would've considered reliable at the time, but I no longer do, that it was pretty funny. I got through maybe 40 minutes of it when I realized it was a whole bunch of famous comedians talking dirty ,but not the good dirty. Vomit and urine and "aunt flow" dirty. It would really rock a third grader out of his mind, so if that's your humor , go for it!

Let me give some background here. The first time I ever saw an Aristocrats joke was admittedly only about 1.5 years ago when I saw the clip of Cartman's rendition of the joke. Yes, while one of the most offensive things I had ever heard, I laughed hysterically. Couple this with how difficult it usually is to offend me, and you can imagine how excited I was when I heard of a full DVD with many well known comedians' renditions. I informed my roommates, my girlfriend; gathered up anyone I could to see what I was sure would be a riot. I was almost completely dissapointed, and embarassed that my friends had to sit through this movie. I know in the sake of keeping the movie from getting monotonous, the editors deliberately chose to cut the jokes up and combine weird parts, along with having large portions of time which simply describe how offensive the joke is (which is completely unnecessary by the way, WE KNOW IT IS OFFENSIVE, WE GET IT, LET US SEE THE JOKE.) Honestly, I bought this movie simply in hopes of seeing comedians try to outdo one another. I would have been perfectly fine watching 1.5 hours of the same joke told different ways. That is not what you get at all, in many cases you never hear the complete version of the joke. So stupid, there was so much potential. Even Bob Saget, with his incredible knack for offensive humor, can't even get the complete version of what was shaping up to be a hilarious rendition of the joke. I will admit, that in this movie, there were 3 or 4 parts where I was hysterical... but that is not worth the 19 bucks I paid. I know the critics were patting each other on the back for having been in love with something so offensive, such toilet humor. But I honestly believe that the only reason they raved is because the caliber of comedians on this DVD would make it seem impossible to dissent. Only worth it at very cheap prices; keep your expectations low.

OK I bought it, I watched it and I sold it on ebay! I like a dirty joke, I like a rude joke but this joke is likely funny if you are an insider who knows the history of the joke. For the drive by listener like most people who would watch it you'll think ok it was humorous, but not side splitting funny. It didn't offend me, but my wife refused to finish watching after a couple of bits as they are rude. But I failed to find it so funny it was worth watching again. Once was plenty for me and I'd think most people, not really worth seeing more than once, unless your about 15 or so then it might be a real hoot, otherwise rent it if you must, but your not missing much. And keep the kids away from it, they don't need this kind of entertainment yet.

How retarded can people be, saying its too vulger. Thats the point of the movie to be offensive!!! Stick to Turnern classic movies if you dont weant to be offended. The level of tallent in this movie shows your the one off the norm. if you think its bad.

The movie is crude and full of humor around that one famous joke. Its definitely worth watching with its all star cast of people telling there interpretations of that joke.

Very funny at some points, it was interesting to see so many comics and their commentary. Really a knee slapper for a while, but in the end it becomes long winded and loses steam. Worth the watch once.

I love raunchy humor, but was expecting to hear more comedians actually tell the joke, than talk about it. Most were too afraid to tell their version or even talk about it much. Bob Saget and Gilbert Gottfried were great, rest of movie fell very flat for me. I loved the comedians' other jokes in the extras more than the movie.

This is it! The movie that brings out the worst in the best! All secrets are revealed when some of the funniest comics tell their version of "the joke". It doesn't get any funnier.

Great movie! One of the funniest comedy movies i've ever seen in my life. Not reccomended for children because of the use of some filthy comments.

I'd heard about this for a long time and was happy to find it. A documentary, it takes what is an inside joke among comedians - and one they don't tell to audiences - and gives many comedians a chance to tell their spin on it. Definitely "R" rated!!

I got this DVD after hearing it was really funny. I'd heard it was rather sick but I'm quite hard to shock so I thought I'd give it a go. I painfully made it through about 15 minutes before I gave up. It's gross, but not in a watchable gross, nor in a funny gross or even a memorable gross... just gross. If you're thinking of getting it, I *highly* recommend you reconsider.

I bought this movie for a lady I work with. I liked that it was 1 cent. Thats My 2 cents. Simply put...Foul and Funny!
Rarely dull, always fresh despite repeated theme and the "Oh My God-Frey" is priceless!

I found this movie to be one of the most funny. I have seen in a long time. Some poeple will not get the joke but if you do. Then you will know one of the oldest and funnest jokes of all time .For me life is comady and comady is life . For me I just had to have it . In closing just get this movie you have got to a lest see it if you do not buy it ,

This movie is not just about a joke... it's about culture and censorship and art and creativity. While you can enjoy the creative process and the examination of individual comedians' styles, you also have to ask yourself what is offensive, and who decides it? Watching it with a group of people really highlights that aspect of the movie: no two people have the same lines drawn at the same place, and this movie crosses everyone's at some point or another. Interesting to realize how few of those different lines you've ever noticed before among your friends.
Aside from those more intellectual and academic aspects, the movie is also flat out funny. If there's a bit that doesn't grab you, in just a few minutes, something else will. No two ways about it. I have never seen any other movie with as many big and varied laughs as this one - no matter what the budget or how much slicker than this one.

This "movie" is fair at best . . however , it is interesting to see so many comedians and their style . Its worth your time to check it out .. especially if you like the comedy style of George Carlin & Phyllis Diller . . .

adults only. Good documentary about a joke that can be as dirty and disgusting as the teller wants it to be. Some comics have great imaginations and some are wierd. Well you can put it all in this joke. There is no wrong way to tell the joke. godfrey was the best because he did it in front of an audience and pulled it off. Its the type of documentary you will watch once at that should be enough. but I'm glad I watched it.

I bought this movie as a little added bonus for my boyfriend for christmas, just a small gift to add to all the other ones, since he loves this movie so damn much. anyway, the lady i bought it from doesnt like to answer messages, except for when you threaten to leave her a negative feedback...when i got the dvd weeks later, the case was thrashed to hell and broken. the cd was a burned copy, as was noticable by its color. when confronted w/ these issues, she only offered to send a new case, not a new c.d. it was obnoxious. i wont be buying dvds on ebay again!
