This is part of Arista's Heritage series.
"Ho hum, another budget-price Thompson Twins repackage," you might think, and normally you'd be right. But THE ARISTA HERITAGE SERIES is an odd little item. Ignoring most of the Thompson Twins' biggest hits--no "Love On Your Side," no "Doctor Doctor"--this inexpensive 11-track compilation instead features the first and only appearance of several excellent tracks from the Thompson Twins' first two albums.
A PRODUCT OF PARTICIPATION and SET were never released in the US. Arista instead chose to combine both albums' best tracks into 1982's IN THE NAME OF LOVE. That classic single, the hyperactive "Bouncing" and the narcotic "Perfect Game" are that album's best tracks, and all appear here. The rest of the disc is a balanced selection of hits and album tracks, and is a surprisingly lucid and enjoyable collection, much better than one might expect from a budget compilation.
