Area 51 (PlayStation 2, 2005)

Area 51 is a FPS shooter for PS2 that goes beyond modern day. The story starts as you playing the role of Ethan Cole an Area 51 Specialist. When a mass infection breaks out in the compound Cole and his 3 man crew set out to find and destroy the mutatious disease. The game also features Online Play which is really fun. I use to play it for hours. Overall the game is really great with awesome graphics and fun shoot-em-up gameplay. Highly recommended game.

the game has beauty beyond most FPS's. The exhilarating and interesting single player, to the battlefield, intensity,and grip-holding online play. This game just rocks.

In the single player, you command the main character all through area 51. From the surface, down to the core of the alien spaceships. You have SMG's(Dual Wield), Shotgun(Dual Wield), Meson Cannon, BBG, Pistol, Sniper Rifle, and 2 types of grenades. Those are all if not, most of the weapons. Your comrades don't die until scriptedly they do; one of which you have to kill. These weapons might seem small compared to Halo, Red Faction, Ratchet & Clank, and Killzone, but really sting.

The online play takes you through 10+ levels, which can make a snipers dream, or a run with all guns-blazing lover. This will have you hooked for a long time even though you see the game was made in '05. It will terrorize you, so you don't play another game you want to get to. I love it and surely you will also.

Pro's- Single player and online captivating.
Small, but hard hitting weapons.
Enemy AI is set to the right level.

Con's- Lore items can be frustrating to find.
Some puzzles leave you wondering if it was even worthwhile.
Dumb spurts on the AI.

Area 51 is so much fun online and I can't stop playing it. The single player game is also very challenging. There are lots of unusal wepons, and tons of awsome levls to beat. If you like 1st person shooters and fast paced gameplay then this ones for you.

This game has always been extremely hard to find. It has plenty of action to keep any serious gamer busy. The animation is excellent and the soundtrack is really one of the best. There is a PC version of this game,too,but this PS2 version is by far the best. If you have ever played "Run Like Hell" for PS2 or any of the "Alien" games for PS1,then this fits right in with those.
The controls are very good and there are not an overabundance of needless button combinations like some other games.

It's a good shotter for being and older game. If you can find it for a good price go for it, its not bad.

Really like, saw on a demo on playstation. The game was very interesting, also kids played very well. So I decided to buy it.

I bought this game hoping it would be similar to the PS1 Area 51 game, but unfortunatly it wasn't. The game is by no means a bad game, actually the grafics are excellent, especially the cut-scenes. However, if you are looking for a good first person shoot, which this game is, I would recommend the PS2 007 Bond games. But if you have never played Area 51 for the PS1 I would recommend that, because it really is a classic. But like I said before this game is not like the PS1 game. It is a fun game, but unless you really like the AREA 51 story. I would just get one of the Bond games.

This is one of the most awesome games ever made, eventhough it is a old game,and you would be surprised by the graphics of this game. I bought a 60gb ps3 just so I would have the capability to play games like this. Becuase, the 60gb ps3 is the one of the only ps3 that can play the old ps2 games.

fun shooting game and the story is not bad the main character voice actor is the guy that plays molder in the x files so if you don't have this game you should check it out.

It wasn't the best FPS game I've played. But not the worst either. The graphics weren't the best and it could have been a little more difficult. You could definitely do worse.

Present for boyfriend, so I wasn't too interested in it but I guess it was okay :) Just not my type of game.

the game plays so well and it to this day blows my mind on how you can kill a bad guy around a table or a wall
