Archos 7 (320 GB) Digital Media Player

I love my Archos, but there are a few things I would love to have known before I purchased it.
1. Archos 7 is not that much better than the Archos 5. Besides just a little bigger hard drive and screen, they are the same. I would have purchased the Archos 5 due to the size. The Archos 7 is a little big to carry with you everywhere.
2. After you purchase the archos device, you need to buy a lot of software to go with it, in-order for you to use the Archos to the fullest. A lot of my movies would not play until I purchased the plug-ins. It would not have changed my mind, but I would have liked to have known about it before the purchase.

Other than those two things, I am in love with my player. The Battery life is AMAZING! I can watch 4 full movies on it before it needs to be recharged. When you get the archos, be sure to let it recharge for at least 10 hours, after that, you can use it for a couple of days before recharging.

Web browsing, It is fast, not like a lot of other items I have seen in the past. It can browse pages almost as fast as my home computer.

Web Radio, It is a wonderful touch, when I get tired of my MP3's, I flip to the web radio and I am able to get a ton more entertainment for free. My only complaint is that you have to listen to what they listed, you can not add stations.

Web TV, It is nice, but it is impractical, No stations were worth watching, That feature is mainly there for me to brag to my friends, making their portable electronics look like they were made by fisher-price.

MP3's, Wonderful sound. This Item does have a built in equalizer to help customize the sound. I was hopping that it would but non of the reviews I have read shown that it was able to do so.

The email function is Great, as long as you use gmail from google or a private hosted email account. If you use Yahoo, then u will have to pay yahoo for it to work. Yahoo doesn't allow pop email for free. Those greedy evil little men. :(

90 percent of flash games will not work on the archos due to the fact that most of them require a mouse or a keyboard, They will play, but you wont play due to touchscreen.

I Love my archos 7 device, Would have liked the 5 better, but I still never regret buying mine. If u want a computer, buy a netbook. it will do all of this and more for less, but If you want a device that is a media player only without a lot of computer related headaches, buy this.

They do sell accessorys for the archos you can buy, I have purchased a few of them and I can tell you which ones to buy, and which ones to ignore.

1. Archos Mini Dock.
Skip it. The item has little uses and is harder to set up than what it is worth.
2. Archos DVR dock.
Buy it. The dvr portion of the dock is cool, but I love this dock due to the AWESOME remote, Ease of use, and wonderful picture. This item turns a tv into ur achoes system. It has no limitations. I love checking my email and brousing the web from my couch. The remote has full keyboard and mouse features in a palm size remote. Wonderful.
3. Helmet cam. Freaking cool, but limited uses. Unless You feel like skydiving a LOT, dont buy, it was kind of a waste of money. I did use it at a party once, but small cheap camcorder would have been better.
4. Car charger, Unless you are a truck driver or go on LONG vacations, dont bother with it. The battery life is well enough to get you from place to place without charging.

I love everything about this device. Fast to activate, clear screen and great size for viewing photos. Movies are viewed beautifully on this device. There are so many things you can do with this device. It allows me to leave my laptop home for most occasions. Easy to email, surf the web and listen to music.
This device is a must have if you are into digital photos and need to have media with you at all times.

I was able to search the web with ease. very simple to load your music.I did not like the fact that you had to buy all those plugins for the other featurs to work.
