Archos 605 (30 GB) Digital Media Player

Pros: portable ,lots of memories , large screen. Cons :needs softwares(plug-ins)from Arches to get the most out of it and they are extra cost,other softwares are not compatiable and Archos does not upgrade their own softwares(ex:Archos flash player 9 is not working on youtube or most other internet video feeds because,they are using flash player 10)

i,m impress with the archos 605..tho i wish the broswer was included. But here at ebay you get better pricing on the assorties, like the gen 5 and other stuff

I did not like the way that the player looked, it was a little too big for me. I wanted it as a replacement for my ipod but that did not work out too well so I decided to not keep it.

I decided to buy this item because I travel alot ,so I wanted to record some NBA gamee so I could watch on the airplane,but I never got it to work yet cause I can't get in to my d'link code to unlock it and the archos support takes so long I'm not sure if I probably should just re-sell it.So right now I'm not loving it.Not simple enough information to program unit without help

I love that it has Wi-Fi... they can get online in hot spots, but not at school; but it will come in handy in school as well. They can store and even view documents (assignments) in pdf format! Their music, their movies, their internet (messengers - they can't stop texting!), their total entertainment and it can be used for educational purposes as well! I LOVE IT!

i loved the idea of being able to record your tv and take it with you. the player has very good picture quality. My player broke after 1 month of usage. out of nowhere the touch screen will not work so now im stuck using the unreliable side buttons.

First Off, The 605 is a good machine with many facets. To being able to use like a DVR, to surfing the web and the standard of playing music. Great Idea !!
The bad, You have to pay extra for Plug-Ins to accomplish these perks. This is not explained to you before purchasing. Second, shortly after having, Archos server for the programing (needed to record like a DVR ) was down for two weeks with no explanation other that thier server is in France? I purchased the DVR station and it arrived with a remote that didn't work. I phoned tech and they said no problem send it back (at my own expense) Its been 2 weeks now with nothing, how hard is it to throw a new remote in the mail back to me? the person said there was nothing they could do and I would have to wait! Lastly when you do call for support it takes a loooong time for someone to come to the phone.
It is a great product if you recieve with no gliches but if you do "Buyer Beware"

I love this product! The picture quality is crispy clear. The sound is magnificent. I stored plenty of musics and movies and still has memory left. This is the best product by far I ever bought!

Bought the DVR station also, recorded many dvd's onto the Archos 605. Absolutely perfect for those long overseas flights!

I love it. The playback quality and the sound quality. It have almos every stuff that ipod touch have but you have to buy it. (For example internet browser, games, some video formats ect.) But it is a great device. Maybe Archos should thin to have some free stuff for it to have more people interested.

I bought the Archos 605 a month ago but I just receive due to my problem in pilitic and airport closed for a period but nothing destrpyed. When get it, I try to use and be familiarize with them. Everything is perfect, brand new, lovely. I get what I expect to. The picture is so beautiful, soft and realistic movement. I have no comment or conplain. Overall, I'd recommend this if you're on a budget.

I like everything about it. From the touch screen feauture, to the wi-fi capabilities. You could enjoy your favorite artists and movies at a high def quality. You could also get to record your favorite Tv shows and the most favorite you could web browse. Man you will find out once you have it in your hands!!

Super PMP, this smokes the i-touch. Easy to use with a fantastic screen!! The only issue I have had with mine is the touch screen is a little TOO sensative.I select a song and close the cover,and if I touch the screen at all it changes. Not a huge deal because you can lock the screen. But most of the time I'm too lazy to lock it.(holding down the button for 2 seconds can be a pain). Some people don't like the Archos because you have to buy plug-ins for extras, I think its great! Why pay for things you are never going to use.And if you ever feel the need to add something you can upgrade you unit.
The Wifi is a great feature (if you want it) It needs a good strong signal to work. But I never seem to have a problem finding a signal.(If your in a airport go stand outside the "gold club" its free)

The way the archos 605 is built is superb from the touch screen to the buttons . The reason i bought this item was a ipod touch was just not doin it to me it has no memory but once i got my archos the difference is just there
