Archos 5 (120 GB) Digital Media Player

This is the absolutest coolest gadget that does just about everything that I've ever owned!!! LOVE IT!

I am very disappointed with Archos customer support. My Archos became unusable after Digital TV Transition in the U.S. on June 12, 2009. When attempted to record TV shows from Direct TV onto my Archos. The sound became staticky. I make sure I downloaded the latest firmware and still couldn’t get it to work again. I called and email Archos customer support multiple times but their staffs are not knowledge about product. They are only good for taking your information if you have to file an RMA. In addition, don’t expect the TV Guide that comes with your docking DVR adapter to work. Archos customer service told me it hasn’t been working for the last 3 months because they can’t afford a new server.

This is a terrible experience; I wasted $400 for a piece of junk.

After breaking yet another Ipod I decided to look around for something different as I'd had a gutsfull of Itunes. I came across this item and read quite a few reviews which was a great help. It's an amazing product as it has wi-fi internet access, games, videos, Tv, plus you can purchase quite a few add ons very cheaply. I paid only £18 more than I would have for another Ipod and believe me it was monet very well spent

I have owned or own a few different mp3, mp4 players but I never really got too excited about them, due mainly to hardware and sofware interfaces. However, the new Archos is one of the best and small devices currently on the market. If you are looking for a serious portable video player or had previously denounced Archos, please try it.
