Archive vol.1

Dylan gave an extensive press conference in San Francisco, 1965 with reporters that ranged from smart, asking very clear questions to some that were the opposite. The latter were well-meaning, but uninformed and asked silly questions. Short clips of this press-conference can be seen on "No Direction Home," directed by Martin Scorcese. This DVD shows the entire press conference and intersperses Dylan singing songs that serve to illustrate the points he was making. He's joined, of course, by compatriots such as Joan Baez and others. I felt like I got a much more complete picture of how Dylan handled himself at the moment when he changed from acoustic to electric guitar with a back-up band.
The only negative comment I have to make is that some of the archival footage in concert was of poor visual quality. In the close-ups, however, you caught facial expressions while singing that I hadn't seen before. All-in-all, it's worth buying if you're a serious Dylan fan.
If you're buying JUST for the archival concert footage, maybe you should invest elsewhere.
