This book is perfect for the traveler/historian. It is the bible plus a great assortment of history and pictures of places associated with biblical stories. It shows places and artifacts associated with biblical times and it tells what museums house the items! Very informative and interesting reading.

I bought the Archaeological Study Bible about 4 weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the quality of the book. I got the Hardcover version, for my home study. I am thinking about buying a leather bond to carry. The hardcover is great, but I prefer a soft or leather to carry. The Layout of the information is very good. I have had several other study bibles, but this one has some different topics. It links history and artifacts to theology. I highly recommend this study bible.

With all of the new "gimmick" Bibles coming into the market it is refreshing to see this Bible. It is truly a helpful study aid that should be on everyones shelf. The content is excellent an very informative. It "digs" deep into the history of the Bible.
Published in the NIV translation it is easy to read yet quite accurate. This Bible comes in hardcover and leather editions. It also comes in a large print edition.

I am very pleased with this book. It gives you insight into the life and times of the people as well as lets you see how and where they lived. It helps bring the bible to life. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves biblical studies.

A very good study Bible in the NIV. Contains maps, profiles, cross references, so it is very userable knowledge source. This helps understand the time line for he stoies and parables.

The layout of this Bible is conducive to study. The photographs, maps and charts are awesome. The print and color of the pages actually makes reading enjoyable.

Great Bible with great resources - really like this new edition along with the CD. Excellent resource for anyone who wants to know more about the Bible

We own this Bible, and we enjoy the NIV translation. But we question some of the commentary comments on the archaelolgical side of it. We would tell the reader to take the writers commentary, as just that, it is their opinion.

This bible is very well crafted, both in the archaeological notes that are place throughout, and visually as well. The page coloring actually seems to encourage one to explore it, as if you were reading an ancient parchment. The notes are very helpful, bringing historic facts into play, which the ordinary layman would not normally know or have access to. In addition, the commentary notes are very valuable as well. It has become my main bible for reading and study.

This is an excellent N. I. V. Bible! It has wonderful pictures and maps. Has pictures of archaeology digs and lots of historic facts. I would recommend this Bible.

The articles are great. The point of view is very appropriate. However, I am disappointed in Zondervan for issuing this in the NIV as opposed to a more accurate translation i.e. NASB.

I bought it because I am interested in Biblical Archeology and recently saw the book advertized at the Abram to Jesus exposition here in Columbus, Ohio. It contains the most recent details of archeological finds in Bible Lands. I was disapointed in that it uses the New International Version of the Bible. I prefer the New King James. The total cost was about $5.00 less than what I could have gotten it elsewhere.

The Bible arrived quickly, it was well-wrapped and in the condition as stated on the site. This is a christmas gift for a dear firned, so I was thrilled to be able to purchase it at this price.
