This 1942 movie was the first of several Arabian Night films. This one had Jon Hall and Maria Montez, Sabu, & Leif Erickson, plus others. The story involves two half brothers who are rivals for the position of Caliph of Baghdad and, of course, the beautiful Scheherazade. There is lots of corny escapist stuff but you can enjoy it all because it was done in beautiful Technicolor. Who can resist a dashing hero and an evil caliph when you have magic carpets and a genie thrown in?

) When the original movie came out in I believe the late 40s I really liked it then and I in my older years I had to it and I still enjoy watching the movie. Back in my youth is all we have was movies since there was no TV. This DVD was really great because I did not think that this movie would come out in such quality since the movie was made so long ago. I do not have any dislike for the movie and I fell it was the best made by Jon Hall and the lady attress.

) The actors were great, a big fam of Jon Hall . A nice movie to watch. Never saw this one before . It was entertaining.
