Not as Powerful as I Remembered
I saw "April Fools" in North Carolina when I was in undergrad school. I was a romantic and dreaming of living in New York. And this film must have fit me to a tee. The theme song still plays in my head from time to time.
But upon seeing it some 40 years later, the film is a fantasy of New York and the romance disintegrates into a 1960's TV satire on married life. But then there still is that breath-taking beauty of Catherine Denouve.
I'm glad I bought it.
