The Apprentice - The Complete First Season (DVD, 2004, 5-Disc Set; Includes "You're Fired" Sound Chip)

The Apprentice does the impossible: it makes the world of buying and selling seem as entertaining as a contact sport. If you had always though of business as a kind of boring affair, and of MBA's as a weird, incomprehensible alien species The Apprentice made the world of the deal -- the business world -- accessible to the rest of the world.

Not in a realisitic way, I suppose, but this isn't Harvard Business School, after all. It's TV. The business tasks -- promoting Trump's casino, renting rickshaws in Manhattan -- are colorful; the candidates are attractive and funny... and under pressure, so their character flaws and strengths are seen in high relief. However its easy to see why this series has been such a success. You can learn countless bits of information, plus the back stabbing is entertaining.


I missed this series on TV, But bought this DVD set. Most sets come with a little suprise, Open up the front cover and you will hear Donald Trump say YOUR FIRED.


One more thing: New York City has never been so beautifully captured on video. Just as "The Apprentice" helps you see why people such as Trump love wheeling and dealing, it also shows you a little of why New Yorkers love New York. The 5th series, this will start in the Fall of 2006, is set in CA, among the rich and famous in LA.

Out of the first 4 series, Season 1 has to be the best. If you missed it, get the DVD
