Apple iPod touch 2nd Generation (8 GB) MP3 Player

Introduction
The iPod Touch is Apple's top-of-the-line portable media player device. It also functions as a personal digital assistant and supports 802.11g Wi-Fi wireless communications for accessing the Internet and downloading music from Apple's iTunes service. The iPod Touch has a slim rectangular shape with rounded edges and a glass "multi-touch" touchscreen display covering most of its front surface. It is very similar to Apple's iPhone product, except for the mobile telephone features.

The "1st Generation" iPod Touch was introduced in September 2007. The 1st Generation requires a software upgrade to enable downloading software from the Apple App Store.

The 2nd Generation iPod Touch was introduced in 2008 and added external volume controls, a built-in speaker, Bluetooth support, permits downloading software from the Apple App Store, and provides the ability to connect a microphone.

The 3rd Generation iPod Touch was released in September 2009 and has faster hardware (the same microprocessors, graphics engine, and RAM as the iPhone 3GS), slightly lower battery life, voice control, a light sensor, and is bundled with earphones that have a built-in remote control and a microphone.
