  The nano is my best friend in the world

It looks like a work of art and is so small it fits in any of jean pockets.

This is the iPod to have lets get into why.

Size - I did not even fully comprehend how impressed I would be, when I held the Nano in my hands. Its thinner than a number 2 pencil and less wide then your inner jean pocket. The first time you see it your jaw just hits the floor in amazement. The seems around the edges are very neat and nearly impossible to notice. When holding the iPod Nano, you really get the feeling that you are holding something of appreciable quality.

Solid State - The iPod nano has not one moving part inside of its casing. The memory it uses is flash memory which you see digital camera memory cards using. It can be shaken and dropped and dont worry because this ipod isnt going to skip. That is how apple got this baby so thin.

Storage - This 4-gigabyte iPod Nano is the best value. It is only $50 more than the 2-gigabyte model, so you get twice as much storage, for only $50 more. But the beauty for you is that on eBay you can get it for even less! Yes thats right cheaper because that is the value of eBay.

Display - The display on the new iPod Nano is fantastic. It is 1.5 inches and is big enough to show 3 full lines of text so your album name and artist show up along with the song name. This baby even holds your photos and contacts. Photos look great on the 1.5 inch screen.

Click Wheel - The click wheel on this baby is great. Its slightly smaller than previous versions, but now it is apple designed and not a third parties part. So it feels even better and by having apple design it they were able to make the nano even thinner.

Color - White is the traditional iPod color, but now Apple realized that black is becoming the new white and you should too. The nano in black is beautiful.

Battery Life - Battery life is always an important feature. After all, what good is it having 1000 songs in your pocket if it only lasts 2 hours. Well have no fear the iPod nano brings in an impressive 14 hours of continuous play.

In conclusion all i have to say is get yourself an iPod nano. In terms of size, usability and compatibility accept no substitutions.

  Before you take the plunge ...

I love the iPod. Always have. At home, we have five, including these two: the 4GB iPod nano black and white.

Before you leap, realize two things: (1) this iPod is extremely fragile compared to other iPods, particularly the tough-as-nails iPod mini (a drop of a couple of feet onto a linoleum floor took out the screen); and (2) the black version gets scratched very easily, and shows scratches far more than any white iPod I've owned (after a day and before dropping the thing, it already looked awful from scratching -- and it was treated with kid gloves).

Okay, if you can live with those caveats, and invest in a durable protector (we bought the arm-band holder, which does a lousy job of protecting the iPod nano)--none of which are out yet--then this new iPod is truly an amazing bit of technology. It's tiny (it feels even smaller than the photos suggest), has great sound quality (better, I think, than any other iPod I've owned), and the display is gorgeous (even though tiny).

For me, the mini (now defunct, but bargains still abound) is the better choice given its sturdiness. I'm not up for museum-relic care for my electronics, which would certainly help if you own one of these.

Another beautiful, functional gizmo from Apple. Just know what you're getting. Some websites claim the nano is sturdy. I can tell you, from first hand experience, it isn't. So, you be the judge. (Sure, the thing still played, but replacing the screen will set you back at least $90, and, even on the web sites in question, the screen broke.)

(Oh, and if you see someone taking shots at the iTunes software, don't believe it. It's the best music software out there, and its integration with this--or any--iPod is a joy.)

  Likely the best portable music listening device ever!
Review created: 10/26/05

Smaller than a cell phone, lighter than a man's wallet, as easy to use as instant Coffee. This is THE coolest iPod to come from Apple. The iPods are famous for their non-skipping, long lasting, and easy to use interface. This is no different. It's everything you love about the iPod then add more nice features and shrink it... twice. It's robust interface and no moving parts coupled with long battery life and even cleaner sound than the original iPod, this is definitely a winner. I can't tell you how many times people stare at it when I take it out to play with it.

The Good:
* Very cool
* Color screen
* Very thin .27 inches
* Small: 3.5 inches by 1.6 inches (62% smaller than the iPod Mini)
* Long battery life: Tested mine at over 12 hours
* Fast transfer of data: ~4 minutes to fill the 2 Gigs and ~8 minutes to fill the 4 Gig.
* Synchs with Microsoft Outlook
* Games
* Workout features like lap time
* World clock
* Screen lock to prevent thieves from using a stolen Nano
* Equalizer for the sound
* Photos
* Loads album image

The Bad:
* Very limited accessories at this time
* No voice recorder
* Can't zoom or pan video
* Chrome at the back picks up fingerprints easily
* Non-adjustable EQ
* Did crash on me once
* Album image only available if you purchased the song from iTunes. Uploading your CD doesn't work.
* Will likely be out of date in a few months as Apple quickly revs on the iPod product

  The Nano is a masterpiece with unlimited accessories
Review created: 01/30/06(updated 01/30/06)
6 of 10 people found this review helpful.

I love my Nano more than other mp3 I have own and I have owned a few. However I have never paid $250 for a mp3 before either. It is pricey but for those who has to have the latest and greatest gadgets then this is it. The feel and look of this thing is unreal. Smooth all around so it's fun to hold and touch. So slim it can fit anywhere.

There are a few gripes I have about it. One being that it doesn't have a built in FM tuner which would really come in handy to listen to when you want to listen to fresh tunes. Wish they had more choices and better armbands for this. Seems like better ones are finally coming out. Unit scratch easily so you definitely want to buy a case or skin for it. Battery life is bad for a flash player. Average life seems much shorter than what the website claims at 14 hours. Yes it may be true if the backlight was off the whole time which makes it very hard to see what you are playing since the screen is less than 2 inches. From my personally experience with the backlight set to 5 or 10 seconds I get about 9 hours.

Also for the price you don't get much funcionality such as being a recorder like most other mp3 players do. Also does not come with a an ac charger. The only way to charge is to connect to your usb port unless you buy a charger or a docking station for extra money after already paying $250. Most of the docking and speakers systems that you can for it are pretty expensive. New FM remote tuner just came out for this but is about $50 bucks!

I bought the Ihome Ipod Alarm Clock and although the clock can't play the music volume up very high is a pretty good gadget to go with your ipod. It let's your listen to your mp3s without headphones and the music fills a small room. It also let's you wake up to the Ipod which is cool. All in all I would of given this an average rating but the ultra cool look plus high resale value and ton of accessories that are available for this unit makes me give it a good rating.

The Good:
Small
Slim
Light
Clock
Colorful screen
Viewing Pictures
Good looking
Tons of accessories for it
Best resale value of any mp3 player

The Bad:
Average to poor battery
Easily scratch
Expensive
Expensive accessories
No charger
Have to buy armband if you want to exercise
Most armbands for this are crappy
No FM tuner
No built in recorder
Can't play video

It is a cheap Chinese copy that does not even work.The instruction book is written in (at best) pidgen english and the drivers that were provided were for window 98.!!! This product and the seller should be prosecuted by Apple for false representation and fraud.

  Excellent MP3 Player with a few things to keep in mind
Review created: 12/24/05
by:
5 of 7 people found this review helpful.

The Nano excells in everything it does. The compact size is perfect for someone who doesn't want to carry around a bulky and cumbersome player. Since there is no hard drive on the Nano, you don't have the worry of a hard drive crashing or skipping. It is so incredibly light and small, that you barely know you have it in your shirt pocket or strapped to your arm. The sound quality is excellent! I went ahead and purchased an adapter (from Monster) that lets me play it in my car over three different FM frequencies of my choosing.

I feel the 4GB capacity is actually plenty of space. I have mine maxed out right now with 992 songs. Apple claims that you can store about 1000 songs. I figure 992 is close enough for me. I'm sure I could get up to 1000 songs if I were to remove some of the larger songs but who cares. You'd have to drive a LONG TIME to get through all 992 songs!

The features on the player on really nice. One feature I particularly like is while listening to a song, you can rate it from 1 to 5 stars. Then when you sync it back up with iTunes, those ratings will be brought in as well. Then you can sort your songs by your rating as well. It even has a few small "games" on board.

Now for the downside...Apple apparently used a different supplier or manufacturing process for the screen covering on the Nano. The screen scratches UNBELIEVEABLY easy. After the first day of use (and I thought I was babying it) I ended up with a couple scratches across the screen. The screen is still readable but I've read reviews from some individuals whose screens were almost non-readable after a very short period of time. I've also heard that there is a class action lawsuit against Apple for this very same problem. The lawsuit claims that Apple knew about the problem but went ahead and released the Nano anyways. I've also heard horror stories from individuals who have tried to get a replacement but Apple refused. Since mine is still viewable, I've decided to wait and see what happens with the lawsuits to determine my next course of action for a replacement or repair.

Once other thing to keep in mind is not to keep the Nano in your pants pocket (front or back). I have had friends who have actually cracked their Nano when they sat down.

All-In-All, the Nano is an excellent MP3 player! I would however invest in a some sort of screen protector before even using it for the first time.

I like that I have not had any problems with my ipod and it was practicley knew. I disliked that it would not play my music as lound as the ipod mini or my ipod shuffle. I trouble shot the problem thinking it was a bad setting or it might be my head phones, but found that it was my ipod. I don't have another ipod nano to compare it with to see if it was just my ipod nano or all ipod nanos. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. I guess I could have gone to my local Wal-Mart and bought the same thing for exactly the same price concidering that the shipping price brought the reduced refurbished price to a regular store purchasing price with taxes.

iPod Nano 4GB is Delicious 5/5

There are so many great reviews of the iPod Nano - but I will keep it rather straight forward and plain. My biggest compliment is that I've read all of the reviews on eBay and elsewhere and had very high expectations. No way the iPod Nano could live up to the expections... well, I was wrong. When I bought it and held it and listened to it - I could do nothing but smile. Its gorgeous. Its got great storage. Its amazing!

  So much great stuff in such a small package!
Review created: 10/18/05
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I just bought myself a white 4gb Applie iPod Nano and love it. Youre able to download pictures that are displayed on a high resolution color screen. In addition to having tons of your favorite songs, you can work with Microsoft Outlook and add all your contact info, calander, and to-do notes to your nano. The nano also comes with 4 different games which are a good distraction if your bored. I love the "spin wheel". It's like a tiny touch pad for a computer!

My ONLY complaint is that they advertize a 4 gb storage capacity, but when I got mine and plugged it in for the first time, the available capacity is only 3.7 gb. Apparently, if you had no programming etc on the nano it could hold 4gb (but then it wouldn't work). It is noted in super fine print on the packaging - but it would have been good to know before! Oh, one other thing. Get something to protect the nano ASAP, the front screen scratches VERY easily (like with a cloth!). If you want it to look great for more than a day - I suggest you get protection for it immediatly. Apple is making a "Agent 18" hard case for the nano that I just bought. Very good idea!

Overall? Great buy, small, compact, highly useful! Very sleek and attractive. It will definately make your friends jealous!

  The Only iPod You'll Need! Great Design & Usability!
Review created: 10/09/05
by:
4 of 9 people found this review helpful.

If you look at my other reviews, you'll notice that I am stingy with the stars, this is the only product to date which I have rated a 5 out of 5.

I've got a 30GB Photo, a 4GB Mini, and a 1GB Shuffle, and this is by far the best iPod I have ever used. With 4GB, I can carry about 400 songs at the best MP3 quality. I only use 320kbps, 44.1KHz, normal (not joint) stereo. I only use MP3 for portability, and not AAC. 400 songs gives me about 25 hours of play time, which is great for road trips pretty much anywhere!

The 30GB Photo is good for keeping my entire collection of songs in one place, but so is my laptop computer, where I have iTunes loaded. If I am on a plane trip, I can easily listen on the laptop if I have to hear a specific song not on the Nano.

In the car, the Nano is ultra-convenient as well. I can actually just velcro it to the dash board - it's so light - rather than buy an expensive dock/cradle for it.

The only possible fault with the nano is that the memory capacity is pretty small at 2 or 4GB. But this is a matter of technology still being developed, and I'm sure that we'll see much larger capacities in the near future. I'd also like to see Bluetooth built-in, so that it can play music through my car wirelessly - build this into the next edition Apple!

All in all, a great buy - you won't be disappointed. Expect people who have not seen the Nano in person to stare at your Nano when you walk by!

Item dvertised as like new condition... It arrived and looked like someone tied it to a car bumper and drove coast to coast with it. I left a neutral feedback, simply said it should have had a better description. Unfortunately, the young, immature seller, left my 1st ever negative feedback. His response, "unrealistic buyer". SO BUYER BEWARE, you are buying from a disgruntled kid.........

  Totally bad product ; not totally disclosed in ad
Review created: 06/11/07(updated 06/11/07)
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

The seller MUST have known how farkled was this NANO. There is no way the seller could have NOT known how bad the condition of this NANO.

To his credit, the seller said the NANO had problems. Replacing a thumb-wheel or a screen can be done for a reasonable cost. These problems are expected and can be fixed. I can deal with this stuff.

This NANO had more problems than a dog has flees. The back cover had no Apple indication, my tech tried to replace both the thumb-wheel, screen and more. Total loss.

I bought the NANO knowing that it had some problem. If the seller had mentioned that it had been in the car crash, tornado and electrical storm, I might not have bid on the item.

My experience in a word: BURNED

Thank you for asking

It has been almost 2 months and I don´t get my Ipod neither a credit note. Never ever in my life I will use this site

I am very unhappy with this purchase and it all began when I bought the item on the spot without bidding. I feel that I am out $74.00! I thought I was buying an item from Tennessee but I wasn't. A third party hacked into the system and sold me the item from China. The item appears to be a cheap imitation of an Apple iPod. I purchased it through PayPal. I am not a happy customer of eBay or PayPal at this time. I do not feel that either company offered me the support I needed as an online customer. I will think seriously before I ever purchase another electronic item off of eBay or use PayPal again!

I bought an IPOD NANO 4GB. All i could say that it was an easy transaction although it took quite long to receive a response from the seller because I sent a check and maybe it was because of shipping. The IPOD works well even if it was just refurbished. I first did not notice that I purchased a refurbished upod since the ad could be a bit misleading because it says "like brand new." Nevertheless, everything went well and I dont have problems with it so far.

  iPod Nano
Review created: 08/24/06
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I must tell you, the iPod Nano is a must have music player for anyone, even if you are not into music. Here is a review on the iPod Nano:

1. Size:
The iPod Nano is about the same width as a No. 2 pencil. The hieght of it is about 3 in., so you can take it anywhere.

2. Quality:
The iPod Nano is made out of very good material, although, it scratches very easy. I suggest to buy an inexpensive case to protect it. The earbuds are also pretty durable.

3. Display:
The iPod Nano has a full color display. With 176 x 132 screen resolution, it is the perfect size for viewing pictures and scrolling through song lists.

4. Features:
The iPod Nano has a wide variety of amazing features. Some examples are: It is able to store documents on its hard drive by simply dragging and dropping. Another feature is the same games on older iPods, but with ennhanced resolution and bright and vibrant colors. The iPod Nano has yet another cool feature, album artwork. By following the guidlines in iTunes, you can view the artwork of the album of the song you are listening to next to the song. I could go on forever about the iPod Nano's features.

5. Accesories:
The iPod Nano has many accesories on the market for use with it. There are armbands, special cases, earpieces, necklaces, fm radios, and more.

6. Storage:
The 4gb iPod Nano has actually a small amount less capacity than that.
The same applies to the 2gb iPod Nano.

I hope this review was very helpful to you with your descision on buting the iPod Nano. Thank you for your time.
