Apple iPod nano 2nd Generation Pink (4 GB, MA489LL/A) MP3 Player

Ipod nano is the best thing to happen to happen to digital music since the iPod itself. I bought this in hopes to have the next cool thing out there, ( i had a mini before and sold it to buy a nano because i didn't have 1000 songs and i wanted to have pictures)

When i first got it it was GREAT, i plugged it in and all the sudden within about ten minutes it was updated with the latest software and it had all my music and pictures on it. Then things went bad.

I was going on a trip that day and when i was back i noticed my iPod nano was scratched. it had not been abused, or even near something that could have scratched it. Go to any store with one on display and you'll see that pretty much whenever you touch it it scratches. YOU MUST BUY A SKIN AND SCREEN PROTECTORS OR IT WILL BE SCRATCHED UP LIKE AN OLD RECORD!

Because the screen is just under the plastic that covers the front of the nano the whole screen is very vulnerable to scartches and smudges which are very hard to get off on this certain plastic.

Positives:

small and sleek

holds all the music most people need

is great if you want pictures but not video

in my opinion sound quality is pretty good.


Negatives:

More Fragile Than a glass ornament

screen is too small for pictures

apple's customer support is really bad

no wall charger, a big problem for those of us that can't get to our usb ports easily on our cpu.


if you are looking for a great toy buy a psp. if you are looking for a mp3 player, try something else. if you must have this, get a knight's armour!

I owned a 1st generation iPod Nano, and it was great! Stores 4 gigs, which is enough for about 1000 songs or so. Small, thin, and doesn't seem to be damaged easily. I kept it in a leather case - which caused the sensor (for circular scrolling) to be weaker and less sensitive. However, it still was able to sense. The backlight is bright enough for the outdoors. ---- Now this second generation (which I got as a gift) still has 4 gigs, but comes with a longer battery. The 24 hour batter (as compared to the older 14 hours) is a must-have if you plan to use it for more than a day w/o charging. It doesn't exactly last 24 hours, since doing anything such as choosing a new song, or changing the volume, will cut down the power a lot. The main power-consumer is the backlight (which is now 40% brighter.) You can, however, turn off the backlight by going to the settings; you can still see everything semi-clearly if there is a bright light source (indoors is sufficient) that can reflect off the back of the LCD.

Overall, great deal. For $200 at stores, or less on eBay, it is worth the money. Slim and small size, large capacity, long battery life.

I still have not been able to load anything onto this fake Ipod Nano. I am very unhappy with this purchase and would stongly recommend steering clear of this seller!

The seller indicated in her listing that the iPod was in very good to excellent in appearance, however the item was severely scratched. I returned it the next day, and the seller told me she wasn't returning my money. Fortunately, I used PayPal who immediately returned my money. Make sure you always use PayPal.

Excellent product. Using it for tunes in the kitchen with portable speakers and it sounds great. Would recommend the Nano to all.

Sleek, Slender, Bright, and Flashy. Apple has out done themselves this time. They redesigned the whole thing. It it about twice as thin as the original and I would pretty much say that the only thing it has in common with the 1st generation is that is plays music. The screen is so much more brighter and crisper. Feel free to actually watch videos on this Nano just like a TV. So lite that you hardly feel it in you pocket or in you jogging case. If you like Music, You will love this.

I bought this for my daughter to replace a stolen one. But she got the stolen one back and I kept this one for myself. To be fair I don't use it like a teen would be I do like it. Not had a problem with it at all. I also bought the extra warranty for an extra 2 yrs. Very good price on that. I hope it will be worth it if I need it. I looks brand new and not something you would know was refurbished.

Wife loves her pink nano. No cosmetic flaws upon receipt of item. So far it performs as if it were just purchased brand new.

Apple is the best. Elegant, functional backed by Apple. Need I say more. Love the size, ease of operation even for a iPod illiterate like myself. This is my first iPod and I am over 50yo.

I bought the ipod nano for my wife for christmas, she wanted a pink one, but of course I couldn't get a pink one locally. I was leary about buying a refurbished unit off of ebay, but the more I read the more convinced I was to buy refurbished. The fact that everyone is individually tested by a real person pretty much sold me. My wife loves her ipod, it is very nice to use for excersising and for travel. It does absolutely everything she needs and then some. I am definately going to be looking for one of these for me very soon! sincerely, Josh

iPod works fine. Shipping took a little bit but it wasn't that big of a deal. Easy to start up and load music. Great Buy

It met my needs-however, it was dead on arrival and had to get a repair. It niw works fine and am enjoying the product

Well about one week after i got it it froze and i can't do anything about it anymore and it didnt come with second generation headphones either it came with 1st generation ones so I'm pretty unhappy with what i got..

What I like is that I can wear my iPod on my arm and use it while exercising. The only thing I dislike is that I can only sync music from one itunes library. I have a laptop and a desktop with different songs on them, but I can only sync from one of them. Another thing is, I thought that downloading music for my ipod would be free. I mean, we spend $200-$300 on these things and then have to turn around and pay $1 (or more) for each song downloaded. One last thing, the ipod does not come with an owners manual. So if you have a question and/or concern, one must go to the web site and get the info. Everyone does not have internet access. Some may have to go to a library, their school or use someone else's computer. I just wish they had the manual so when I ran into problems all I have to do is grab it, instead of turning on my computer, waiting for it to load up, and signing on to the internet. I hope apple corrects all of these drawbacks.

I have loved being able to download my favorite songs only and not have the whole CD or album. And I have found the iTunes Store to be really user friendly. Now when I hear a song that I love, I write down the name of the song or the singer and then I go find it and download it to my iPod. I listen to music all the time now. And this is coming from a grandma!

This Ipod was a piece of junk it never worked and could not get any response from the seller.Thankfully paypal refunded my money.

I purchased this through a "Buy it now" auction and received a knock off IPOD. Immediately after I had concluded the transaction, Ebay sent me an email stating they were canceling the auction and to contact pay pal about a possible fraudulent listing. I went to the resolution center, filed a dispute, and was told that nothing could be done. I have since contacted pay pal to attempt to find a resolution to this issue and they are still working on it. Ebay, by cancelling the auction and removing the listing (although they did say someone was using another's ID) gave me no way to track the item and when it was received about 5 days later, it was a complete fake. I took it to the Apple store in my area and received an official evaluation from apple that it was bogus.

I have yet to hear from Ebay or Pay pal as to resolving this matter.
