  Buying Used IPhones from EBay
Review created: 09/23/09(updated 10/10/09)

72 of 74 people found this review helpful.

IPhones are well known product, it's fantastic, but buying from EBay sellers isn't that trustful, I brought recently 2 3G 8G Iphones, both arrived safely to me but, with problems due to the unrealistically descriptions in their listings,
Let me describe the first one
1. No USB
2. No Wall charger
3. No Box
Just the Phone itself, it was described as "Gently used" and in the Title "Great Condition" wow, what an amazing description, the phone came as it was played with it football :) scratches and dings everywhere, even the Vibrate button broken in addition to the Volume up is not working as well.

Wow, I don't know whether I should mention the sellers name but, I will just to make people know this seller, She is " lara5296 " and in the first time in my life I would give a negative, I gave it to her because, she earned it,

and I'm very sorry for that.

About the second, I didn't have time to test it but, I will and I'll write separate review for it later, but, it didn't came with a wall charger as it was described and there was 1/2" ding in the back cover low corner :( which again comes to bad sellers describing their listings in not professional way.

UPDATE:
Now, after many purchases for used IPhones, I have created a check list, that MUST be in the Listing before you bid or buy:

1. Ensure that the Product Photo is the Photo of the REAL Phone
So, DON'T BID if you can see normal IPhone photo,
Some sellers just copy some pictures from other sellers or OLD listings and post it, I think most of those sellers have a lower "Feedback" score and still searching for the easiest way to publish. which comes to the next rule
2. Buy from a Higher feedback seller
3. Buy from a seller who really criticize his product, and he is focusing on both negative and positive sides of the product.
4. Do some homework, I mean, you can check and read some of the feedback.
5. Communicate and communication is a very direct and straightforward method of trust ship.
6. of course, buy with PAYPAL, this is very important because, even disputes take time, but, they will give you full refund (even shipping fees).

All the best for all the Ebayers and please, let us keep this environment healthy.

Thank you all for reading my review

AMAZING !! But Dont Pay More Than $5

This is a great product! But it can be expensive! I'm glad I found www.ultimate-free-gifts.co.uk where I got mine for free :)

All I did was sign up and then completed ONE offer. I recommend the Intuit 30 day FREE trial ,OR the Seattle Coffeeoffer as it is FREE to complete and takes a few minutes!

There are many alternative offers you can complete such as the King.com offer where you have play through $5. There is a chance you will win your money back anyway!

There are many other gadgets I can get for free this way, such as consoles, iPhones, iPods, Plasma TV's and the list goes on

Visit: www.ultimate-free-gifts.co.uk

before you think about putting your hands into your pocket for this gadget.

The site can afford to send out these "free" gifts because you have to complete an offer first. They get paid commission when me and you do so, which is used to buy the gift with money left over as profit for them!

I hope you enjoy the extra $$$'s saved in your bank account from using ultimate-free-gifts.co.uk :)

iPhone 3G 8GB (AT&T and any others when unlocked)
Review created: 10/08/09

It's been over a year since Apple came out with it's iPhone 3G version, available in 8GB and 16GB (for $100 more).

The phone is solid with an outstanding design and quality.

Regardless what I've heard previously (when this phone just came out) the quality IS NOT WORSE than the original iPhone, and compare to original iPhone the 3G and built-in GPS receiver makes this phone very attractive for wide audiences.

I would strongly recommend this phone, especially when the price was dropped to a $99 (with 2-year contract) last July.

Another note, that using Universal SIM or any other solution (including RedSn0w and YellowS0w, etc.) I have personally tested this phone on many different GSM operators (mostly European) and it work great!

I liked everything I bought the NewPhone 74205 three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.

Differences between 3G iPhone and 2G iPhone
Review created: 03/10/09
by:
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

Today I had the pleasure of reviewing and comparing it with my own first generation iPhone. So now I’m here to give you the low down between the two, and what I like better about each.

The Look and Feel

My iPhone has the smooth metal finish with the black strip on the bottom. The front has a shinny metal bezel which ends around the screen. The buttons are all constructed on plastic and move very easily. The earpiece is back with a black plastic, and the bottom speakers/speakerphone is hidden behind plastic mesh. The headphone jack, is unfortunately recessed.

The iPhone 3G has a smooth glass black finish (also available in white). This finish runs unbrokenall around the 3G, and ends in the same place as mine with the shiny metal bezel. All the buttons on the 3G are now constructed with shiny metal (except the home button). This gives them a thicker feel over the cheap feel of the iPhone’s plastic buttons. Instead of a black finish behind the ear piece, there is now a silver perforated mesh. This same mesh is used for the bottom speakers/speaker phone. A new aspect on the bottom side of the 3G is the inclusion of two screws, which could presumably be used to open the case. The second greatest difference is the new inclusion of a no-recessed headphone jack.

The main difference between the interior and exterior of the iPhone and the iPhone 3G, is of course the backside casing. Another key difference is the shape of the back of the two phones. My iPhone is flat across the backside, with rounding near the edges. On the 3G, this rounding much more pronounced as it take on the form of a drawn out dome that tapers near the edges. The rounded back of the 3G also extends out further than that of the original iPhone. The iPhone 3G is also slightly wider than the original iPhone, though not enough to notice. The screen of the iPhone 3G is also slightly warmer than the original, as was mentioned on the news a few weeks ago.

The Features

The difference in features between the iPhone and the iPhone 3G are not large. The 3g does have GPS, and the capability to download data at higher speeds over the 3G network. After testing the GPS, I found it to be very accurate, finding our location within a matter of seconds. Comparing this to the cellphone tower triangulation on the original iPhone, the 3G is clearly more precise.
The 3G network is much faster than the 2G. The 3G showed less bars, whereas my 2G showed full bars. Turning off 3G showed the same results as my iPhone on the 3G. The 3G was faster downloading App’s and browsing the internet.

Other than the GPS and the 3G network, there is no real difference between the original iPhone and the iPhone 3G as features go.

Overall comparison

Comparing the original iPhone and the iPhone 3G side by side, it is obvious that the iPhone 3G wins as far as new hardware goes. The only thing that I dislike about the 3G is the black backing. I much prefer the aluminum backing on my 2G iPhone. The other thing I dislike about the 3G is it’s more expensive data plan and lack of included text messaging. I don’t want to pay $15 more dollars a month than already do, so I think for now I will be keeping my iPhone. I imagine I will wait until the next iteration of the iPhone is out to trade my 2G in.

  Apple iPhone 3G (refurbished) (AT&T)

This is without a doubt the best phone that I have ever owned. It is amazing what you can do with this phone and the thousands of apps that are available. The only drawback is the battery only last for a little over a day so you just have to charge it every night. It is full of features and the only missing ones are the camera does not have a flash and it does not offer the ability to take video. But there are so many things you can do that you could not even imagine on an ordinary cell phone. The 3G network is very fast and the device automatically seeks out wifi hot spots for even faster downloads. The touch device takes a little getting used to but you get faster and faster the more you use it. It is a great way to stay in touch. The extra $30 AT&T charges for the unlimited data seemed a little high especially since it utilizes WiFi as much as possible. It does not come with any cases, covers, nothing but a charger and data cable. You will need to purchase some type of screen cover and I decided on a rubber case to protect the unit in case it should fall. It is a little pricey but well worth it for all it can do. I would recommend it to anyone except those who are technically challenged. Apple has done a good job of updating the device and keeping it current. It took a little navigating to understand iTunes and getting your pictures, tunes, ringtones, etc downloaded to the device. Once you get the hang of it everything is pretty smooth. I wish I had the capability to change the tones used for mail and appointments but maybe that will be in the next software release.

  IPhone 3G Review

I love the look and feel of this phone. Emails are much easier to read and reply to. Calendar functions are very handy and easy to navigate. I like the way the phone syncs with Outlook and cleans up my desktop based on the way I have cleaned up the phone directory. It is not bulky and easy to fit into my jacket or pant pocket. The applications are pretty cool and you will find there is an abundance of useable free stuff. The only negative so far is that the battery life does not last for 6 hours under constant use, and I am a heavy user for email and phone. Also works great with the jawbone bluetooth headset.

I would recommend the Iphone highly!

  from Nokia 6125 to iPhone 3G ...
Review created: 10/02/09
by:
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I'm a stickler for phone responsiveness, calendar/phone interface, and general aesthetic and UI appeal. I should have made the switch a year ago (but I probably saved a few bucks by waiting this long, and it didn't kill me).

The Nokia 6126 has an intuitive, fast UI that I enjoyed for 2 years. As a phone-a-holic, I tried other phones before and after sticking with that phone for so long. Part of the decision was based on cost, but the phone just WORKS.

I recently decided to splurge on an iPhone 3G. iPhones had always turned me off because:

* the cost
* iTunes is a cumbersome program
* "closed" vs. being open source or easy to manipulate
* easy to break

I've only had the iPhone 3G for a few days but I've decided it's AWESOME. I'm still trying to figure out a way around PAYING APPLE FOR SONGS/RINGTONES I ALREADY OWN IN MY MUSIC LIBRARY! It's BS that it costs money to convert songs to ringtones. But not to worry, just jailbreak and there are MANY ways around it.

Gotta say that the iPhone is just as intiutive as the Nokia, plus the touchscreen is better than I thought it would be. So many apps and fun extras to play with. For a techie kind of guy, this purchase was perfect. Get one, or a 3GS if you can afford it.

coulda been thinner from the get go, slightly heavier than id like/most agree. feels good in the hand. looks great, they gotta figure out a way to reduce smudge (antiglare coat for ex.) i mean the possibilities are endless with this phone, its software based! so the sky's the limit and came with a very impressive set of internal hardware like bluetooth, wifi etc. and oh so easy to unlock and jailbreak, with a little help even from apple! glad our money is going somewhere (back to us!) other than that this is a revolutionary product and we all know apple, it will only get better. next say bye bye to gps hardware and even better and bigger, bye bye cell phone company who are some of the biggest crooks earth has known - skype call on wifi! enjoy im done

The good: The Apple iPhone has a stunning display, a sleek design, and an innovative multitouch user interface. Its Safari browser makes for a superb Web surfing experience, and it offers easy-to-use apps. As an iPod, it shines.

The bad: The Apple iPhone has variable call quality and lacks some basic features found in many cell phones, including stereo Bluetooth support and 3G compatibility. Integrated memory is stingy for an iPod, and you have to sync the iPhone to manage music content.

The bottom line: Despite some important missing features, a slow data network, and call quality that doesn't always deliver, the Apple iPhone sets a new benchmark for an integrated cell phone and MP3 player.

Specifications: Band / mode: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 (Quadband) ; Talk time: Up to 480 min ; Combined with: With digital camera / digital player ;

Review created: 11/19/09

Vendor seemed great at the beginning and has received some good reports from others but after the "unlocked/jailbroken"; I-Phone was delivered at my home and did not work on my T-Mobile SIM as expected he only gave 1 support email to try to help me fix it and that solution failed. I have sent several emails to the vendor asking for help to either call me or email me - but no reply at all. I have pleeded with the vendor to let me send the unit back to him so he could make it work for me - no reply at all.
This was my first E-Bay purchase and might be my last if the vendor lets me hang.

Very dissapointed that I wasted $400.00 on an internet purchase.
My wife was right - don't trust people you don't know.
