Appaloosa (DVD, 2009)

Seen the trailers for this movie a few months ago and liked what I saw . It turned out to be a pretty good movie . Would reccomend this movie .

Excellent movie. Highly recommended. It has guns, violence and a moral message. All qualities I like to watch and untypical of much of the stuff coming out of Hollyweird today.

was exactly like it was described, shipped quickly. No problems with shipping or paying for item. Had comuncation with seller, everything was business like and there wasn't a problem with any of the items I purchased as I bought more than one DVD for family members. A fantastic Western with comedic scenes and a star studded cast. The story line is taken from some familar past movies, such as Tombstone and Unforgiven, yet, it lighter in the humor area and not as tense throughout. A must see for sure! After watching the first time, I had to purchase a copy to share with the family. It has enough of everything for just about everyone in it, I believe. The cast did an above average job of performing in this one, lending their talents to the situation comedy and the suspense. Add this one to your library, it will be another one of those movies that doesn't get old, despite multiple times viewing!

But also a great western writer..I was a little leery of this Western..I loved "Tombstone" and haven't found a western yet that meets my high expections since I first saw "Tombstone"..but this one is a close second..filled to the hilt with great action and a few jaw dropping moments..this movie does not disappoint..Mortensen, Harris, Zellweger and Irons are definitely in their prime in this fun film..Two Men Cole and Hitch are paid to keep law and order are summoned to "Appaloosa" to wage a two man war against local baddie Randall Bragg to justice..along the way they find love and romance that could tear apart their long standing partnership..I give this film 5 out of 5 bars!!

what's not to love?! Very western and very cool. Definitely what I would describe as a modern classic,right down to the music.
A very good story,awesome scenery, well-acted,cool costumes and guns....can I get a Weehaa?! We got a good deal on this new DVD from a seller on E-Bay called:2020video out of L.A. Good price,good shipping......yeah baby'!

Great western novel but movie did not flow, sceens etc. jumped around as if this was a TV series patched together. The part that Renee Zellwegger played was way below her talent. This part could have been played by the average female actress. The landscape sceenery was excellant. The use of an old steam engine was fascinating but the use of it's whistle was way overdone.

Even though they never told you how the town came to be named "Appaloosa", I still enjoyed this movie. The acting is superbly done. This is a name cast who blend & act well together. I highly recommend this movie.

You shouldn't be dissappointed about seeing this Gunslinging Western. Ed Harris and Vig Mortensen work very well together as you see them come into town to stop the local gang from getting away with bloody murder.

Mrs. Allie French (Rene Zelweger) shows up very soon after the film starts and make a big presence on film. Although her character was sweet and fun, I knew she must be too good to be true.

Ed Harris falls immediately for Allie French (Zelweger) and so does Vig, although Vig doesn't try to fall for her, she just pushes herself on any man she feels attracted to. Jeremy Irons and Lance Henrickson also play important roles in this film.

I'm going to give this film a 4/5 because of the detail that went into making this film. There wasn't a great deal of violence and cursing. The dialogue was sometimes funny and cute and Ed really worked at developing a style that worked for his character.

If you enjoy westerns you would love this movie. Staring Ed Harris and Jeremy Irons. They don't make good westerns anymore so I started researching some of the older ones and have been pleasently surprised at just how good they are. Set in the time when the "good guy" ultimately wins verses todays version of its OK for the bad guy to win sometimes. I don't like that.

A truely classic western that makes you feel good about the old western frontier.

outstanding movie! the accuracy of the period correct firearms is outstanding. good story line with an excellent cast. love this movie!

This movie is about friendship and love and forgiveness. It has some violence to explain the story, but it is secondary. The acting is great and the movies proceeds at a comfortable pace, not to fast or to slow. It is a feel good movie that takes place in the old west. The acting is great, the characters and how they react to various situations is belivable. I would highly recommend this movie. I would also highly recommend the seller. The movie arrived quickly and in excellent shape. This seller is trustworthy and professional.

really like viggo mortensen....was a good character study....ed harris was awesome too! and the photography was good, not your casual western...went deep into the players characters....

It was good, but it wasn't great. Though, we expect so much out of a modern western today that if it's not packed with gun slinging action throughout the entirety we tend to dismiss the film itself. I think on many aspects Ed Harris' directing was natural when the scenes would stretch on quietly. Just like the life in New Mexico and Texas where the film was shot. The chemistry between Harris and rare gem Mortensen is unmatched and a treat to have. Jeremy Irons and Renee Zelleger could be replaced fairly easily. Some of the shorts were beautiful albeit the blandish and overused plot turns, it's a fun watch, just not a 3:10 to Yuma like we all hoped for.

I bought this on a recommendation from a friend who loves Westerns but doesn't really have the same taste in movies as I do. Doesn't matter, it's a great movie! One I will watch over and over. The attention to detail, the clothing, hats, boots, guns, and even the realistic way the guns sound is unmatched by many of the so-called classic Westerns. The interactions between the characters is more true to life as well, especially for those times. It left me wanting more and not thinking, "dang, that was about and hour longer than it needed to be". This is a must watch for you even if you don't care for Westerns, it's just an all around good movie and the story behind the movie is just a interesting.

The main reason why I bought the movie was because of Viggo Mortenson. I like his work.

I am only halfway through the movie and I don't think I am going to finish it. The movie was goimg just fine until Rene Zelweger shows up in it. I think from there it is just downhill from what I saw.

I thought that this would be a different type of western but it has the same old boring storyline from what I could tell.

I am a CSI fan and love to watch this series. The product was in very good condition. Now I have my complete CSI collection and waiting for the next season to come out. Will buy from seller again.

Very disappointing western. Rene' Zellweiger was awfull. Poorly directed by Ed Harris. Terrific and tense action scenes are made insignificant and muddled by the disjointed plotline. Script is poorly written and a bit hard to follow. Ed Harris is good. Vigo Mortensen is the ONLY reason to watch this film.

i had heard a lot of good things about the movie and how good it was, so i bought it. it was a big disappointment! was no where near as good as i heard. thank god i only paid 6.00 for this movie!!
