Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (Nintendo DS, 2008)

This game is really good the only reason I gave it a 4 is because its a shame the original series ended. Now we have to get introduced to new characters again although it is still fun and exciting to play. Players star as rookie defense attorney Apollo Justice as he visits crime scenes, questions key witnesses and collects vital evidence before stepping into the courtroom to prove his clients' innocence. Facing Apollo across the courtroom is the highly talented and flamboyant prosecutor Klavier Gavin who, in addition to being a legal genius, is also lead singer with Gavinners, a highly successful rock band with a string of hits to their name. He may be young and inexperienced but Apollo's confident manner and passion, coupled with his unique ability to uncover witnesses' lies by studying their body language, will prove invaluable assets in the courtroom as he pleads the case for the defense. Thankfully, Apollo is not alone and is aided both in and out of the courtroom by his assistant Trucy, a mysterious female magician. Apollo also receives invaluable advice from his mentor the ultra-cool Kristoph Gavin, elder brother of Klavier, whose perfect logic and natural instincts have won him numerous cases and the respect of his colleagues.

Really great game overall. Like the other Phoenix Wright games, it's full of puns and mysteries. A little goofy but not too much to get annoying. Really starts to use the 3D observations of items effectively. I really liked the bracelet that catches when a witness lies. Animation has much improved as well. Apollo is actually not bad, once you get to know him. ^_^ Can't wait to finish, about halfway through.

Brief and to the point:

I enjoyed this game as a continuation to the Phoenix Wright Trilogy.

The writing was very well done, which made me so into the story that I couldn't put it down.


As a result, I beat this game fairly quickly, and there is little replay value.

Unfortunately, I don't think the twists and turn of the cases were anything as outrageous as Trials and Tribulations, although that may be a plus for some.

Purchase if you have to, or if you like to have sets; rent if available - if you are a "gamer" you will probably beat this game over the weekend.

Enjoyed it while it lasted!

For fans of the Phoenix Wright series, this is a pleasant addition. It was especially nice to have fingerprinting brought back into the game after it was introduced at the end of game one and left. The change from using the magatama to using Apollo's bracelet to "perceive" people's nervousness is a little strange, but easy to get used to. It references some of the occurrences from previous games, so it isn't the best game to start for an introduction into the Wright Universe.

this game isn't really like being a lawyer. its hard as hell. i'm still working on it but i needed to check online to figure out the first part of the game. if ur into actual lawyer-ing like court tv. this game may not be for you

I like it because it is extremely challenging...and makes you think about a witness testimony and makes you think like a lawyer.
