To any Marilyn Manson fan, this album could be considered the last of an era in darkness death metal of the band Marilyn Manson. After this album, Manson changed up his image from the stringy-hair gothic characters to a more refined glam-esque way. But, what better way to end the era than by putting forth one of their most powerful albums to date?!
Antichrist Superstar focuses on the dark and evil points of life, portraying things in a borderline-satanic way. If you do your research and try to find an understanding with Marilyn Manson, you will know more than the average passer-by who may look at the album and run away in fear. Antichrist Superstar is a very powerfully packed album of rage, sarcasm, angst, and what an amazing expression of freedom of speech! However, I caution you, it takes that certain understanding of Marilyn Manson to truly appreciate his music for its lyrical content; any death metal rock 'n roller can likely appreciate this entire album based on musical content alone.
"Beautiful People" and "1996" will either make you want to dance or join a mosh pit, but either way, it'll get you moving. "Man That You Fear" will move you, but in an emotional way. "Tourniquet" was also one of the more well-known releases from this album. All in all, each track is special and will catch your attention in its own way.
This CD is one of Manson's finest and should be added to any true fan's collection.
