Album Notes
ZZ Top: Billy F. Gibbons (vocals, guitar, harmonica); Dusty Hill (vocals, bass); Frank Beard (drums, percussion).
Recorded at Ardent Studios, Memphis, Tennessee. Includes liner notes by Jim Bessman.
ZZ Top continued on in its self-described "return-to-basics" approach on its 1994 release, ANTENNA. While the production remains much more polished when compared to the sound of the early albums it was trying to recapture (RIO GRANDE MUD, TRES HOMBRES, FANDANGO!, etc.), there's still plenty here to satisfy most ZZ Top fans. On such tracks as the album opening rocker "Pincushion," the down-and-dirty "Fuzzbox Voodoo," and the crawling blues of "Cover Your Rig," the trio sounds like it's still having fun some 20-odd years after first crashing the scene. ANTENNA proved to any doubters that ZZ Top still had plenty of gas left in its tank.
