A colored view from black & white's master.
It was purchased as a Christmas gift for someone who wants to become a professional photographer (using black & white), so I thought the book would be of interest. The book is good for describing Ansel Adam's foray into the practice and critique about the use of color. It is outdated in terms of mechanical color photography, but Ansel's philosophical view is more than the worth of the book. The book is recommended, even if the color photos do not equals with his black & whites and the color images do not match today’s quality, the book shows the colored world that laid behind his black & white master pieces. It gives an inspiring photographer an example of how the two mediums compare, and how, and what to capture.
