Annie Hall: funny, delightful, and witty
Woody Allen is a great director and a wonderful actor, but his true gift lies in writing, particularly screenwriting. He is witty, straight-forward, honest, and hysterical. In "Annie Hall," he has paired with a very young Diane Keaton to deliver a gem of a motion picture. Both actors' performances are remarkably good, and Allen's directing is superb. His characteristic "side comments" delivered straight into the camera really give the viewer insight into his character's mind, consequently making him more accessible and loveable.
This movie is incredibly funny in a very intellectual way, with most of its witty jokes becoming memorable and more understandable with the passing of time.
"Annie Hall" is a delightful movie about love, sex, relationships, and marriage, among other things, colored by Woody Allen's wit and extraordinary eloquence.
A terrific film!
