Anne of Green Gables (VHS, 1996)

Anne of Green Gables, based on the book by L.M. Montgomery. This is a movie about Anne Shirley, an orphan girl, who by mistake is taken to Green Gables. Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert (who wanted a boy, not a girl) take a liking to Anne and decide that she can stay. A great classic come to life with a splash of romance. I love the music throughout this movie!

Great Movie we love it. I believe this is a modern classic. Great foundation for the Road to Avonlea Series.

What a delightful series! I saw the whole set a couple of years ago while visiting a friend. My husband wasn't with me but I was sure he would have enjoyed it. lately the movie was on my mind - I just had a hankering to see it again, so I ordered it from Ebay in VHS format, since we still have that option here at home. I ordered it pre-viewed for about $15. It was much cheaper than DVD, and DEFINITELY cheaper that a NEW DVD set which I believe runs around $60.
This is a great family movie - all ages - and my husband loved it also.
As always, a good buy on E-Bay.

This film is beyond excellent. The many human lessons contained in the presentation and how the character is nurtured through her foibles and failings to ultimately realize her goals and dreams is an absolute must-have for every young person that needs encouragement. My young daughter was so impacted by the positive messages in this film that she read the entire collection of the LM Montgomery series of books. Her reading, as well as her outlook on life, was much improved. This is one of the few movies that I like to watch every year - so I bought it as a gift to myself.

a highlight of any young girl. I watched this movie with my two daughters when they were young and we were "hooked"! Now I have the pleasure of introducing it to my 2 granddaughters.

took forever to come and when i wrote them to see when they sent my stuff they wouldnt write me back.these people are crap!! i will never do business with these people again!!

I love the movie and so did my daughter til the other copy I had broke so I needed another copy. I hope to get my daughter reading the books when she is older to help her understand the movie even better. Plus to get to know the characters like they were old friends.

The BEST thing about this purchase is that it is very EXPENSIVE and HARD to FIND items, this was inexpensive and in GREAT working condition. I would of never been able to afford the whole series, had I not found them on ebay at an affordable price. The VHS's are in excellent working condition. I could not be any happier had I purchased them Brand New. Thanks Ebay YOU ROCK!

I love this movie. I used to watch it all the time when I was a little girl. I couldn't believe it when I found it on ebay. I bid on it and won. The movie is in excellent condition. Thank You very much.

Anne of Green Gables is full of beautiful cinematography, and interesting characters.

It is a charming tale of an imaginative orphan girl who through a simple mixup, gets the home she always dreamt of. This story follows young Anne through her troubles and triumphs at Green Gables.

I would recommend this movie to my friends. It is one of those timeless classics never grows old.

It is in gread condition and in the promised condition. One was even brand new. I bought it because the three come in a set and it was a great price. I really wanted to get it for a family member that had been looking for it and I found it!!

I decided to buy Anne of Green Gables because my daughter loves the movies and the book. She already had the complete set but the first one was missing so ebay was actually a fantastic place to replace something like that! The movie was in great condition and we still use some VHS movies so it was a good purchase for our family.

I love this movie!! I believe it is one of my most favorite movies ever!! I have the entire series but one day when I was in a hurry I accidentally dropped the tape on a hard floor and it shattered. I cried. Then I decided that I could take a blank tape apart and put the tape inside of the case of the blank tape....Obviously this did not work and I then decided I could buy it off of Ebay and have it replaced in no time and so this is what I did. Sense it is a 2 part tape series I kept the other tape in case I drop it but I now have a brand new one still sealed....for around 10.00...this is a 30.00 t0 40.00 dollar tape when I bought it when it first came out years ago. I love ebay!!

I have read all eight of the Anne of Green Gables books and had to own this movie, which I saw on PBS. Megan Follows is delightful as Anne, the young orphan, and later as Anne, a self-assured young woman. The entire cast is outstanding, with the scenery of Canada playing an important part, as well. Anyone who enjoys a heartwarming story with a less-than-perfect heroine will enjoy this tale of triumph over heartache!

I bought this movie because I've read the books and if the movie stayed with the books then it promised to be a good one. I prefer movies that have a good clean story plot to them. I don't like to be watching a movie with others and find myself embarrassed by the language and nudity that is so prevalent even in movies rated PG. This movie lived up to my expectations. It was clean, funny and sad. It made me laugh and cry. For me that is the criteria for good entertainment. I appreciate the effort that was put into making this movie a good family movie.
