Anne of Green Gables - The Continuing Story (2001, VHS)

Anne of Green Gables represents the height of what is right about western civilization. Every library should contain something about this character - Anne Shirley and her world. I want to be able to lend this to my friends so extra copies in any format are worthwhile to enjoy and to share with others who may enjoy something that is totally decent.

To those, like myself, who loved the first two installments, this continuation of the story is a huge disappointment. First, the story itself is so convoluted as to be almost incomprehensible. Characters are not developed as in earlier episodes. What the video ended up with was a bunch of people for whom I cared nothing doing things I did not believe.

I have the four tapes which cover the story up to this set and wanted to have the complete set. I love this series because it's family oriented and there is no bad language, violence or nudity which is hard to find this day in age. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys good clean family entertainment.

The movie is in great shape and will be enjoyed by us all. My children and I enjoyed these movies when they were young. Thank you.

Anne Shirley is now in her 20s and hasnt been back to avonlea in 5 years since marilla's death. Only to find Green Gables is in total shambles. Her and Gilbert are engaged and buy Green Gables back. Then Gil decides to join the war. Anne doesn't hear from him and decides to find him. This movie starts out a little slow but once you get into it, it turns out to be a fabulous movie. Its isnt the same as the first two but there are some familiar people in this movie.

Had seen all the other Anne's and wanted to know how it ended for her. Was glad to see some of the same people, missed seeing Marilla, and Matthew, but enjoyed the story. Got a little lost thru the war sequences, but liked the ending.

This is the kind of movie to watch on a rainy Sunday afternoon by yourself or with your best friend. I am Anne Shirley's biggest fan and loved the two previous movies. I wouldn't go as far as saying this one was my favorite. Probably because the bulk of the story did not take place in the beauty of Avonlea, nor did I like the state of Green Gables when Anne returned from New York. I'm sentimental, though. But I will always love these characters and enjoyed seeing an adult Anne, Gilbert and Diana.

I am very happy with the dvd, it came wrapped and brand new, which is excellent. I watched this show as a young girl and its bringing back good memories for me, as well as enjoying it in excellent brand new condition is fantastic, thank you!!!

I have always loved the Anne of Green Gables series & wanted to purchase the 3rd one to complete the trilogy. I think that is what started my purchasing/selling on eBay. The movie itself wasn't what i thought it would be. Anne had aged soo much & there wasn't nearly enough detail like the other movies. The seller of the movie was wonderful to work with.

I have always loved the Anne of Green Gables Series and had all of the tapes except -- The Continuing Story. Many of the earlier tapes did not feature "Closed Caption" but his one did. Great family viewing

Anne of Green Gables has been one of my favorite stories, and I wanted to pass my love of this story onto my children. I used to own "The Continuing Story" but lost it when we moved a year or so ago. My kids had watched the first two shows and were anxious to see this final episode. I didn't want to pay full price since this was my second time purchasing this video. So, of course, I turned to e-bay because I knew that I can find most anything I need on e-bay usually for a good price.

This was a much slower paced and different feel from the original 2 movies. I was slightly disappointed that there were gaps from where Anne of Avonlea left off and where this one started. I really enjoy Megan Follows, but I felt her portrayal of Anne this time was more reserved and that it didn't have the same enthusiasm I would expect. I still think it is a decent movie that shows the bonds of love and courage and would recommend it. Just don't expect it to be like the other two.

I had the previous vhs, and because I loved them I wanted to continue the story. This series is a great good clean entertainment for families. I enjoy watching a movie that I feel comfortable watching with children. This story keeps you interested all the way, and you do not lose your train of thought.We need more like this without the bad language or fear. I recommend it for all.
