Anne of Green Gables - The Continuing Story (DVD, 2004)

Any one who has read the Anne of Green Gables books will be disappointed. This movie has NOTHING from the original series whatsoever. In the books she has grown children that are going to war in WWI. In this movie she is newly married and trying to find Gilbert in France who is missing in the war.
Trying to pass a 34? year old woman off as being in her mid-twentys looks ridiculous to me. The dialog in places seems forced, like being friends now with Josie Pye. The movie is too graphic for little children with blood oozing from a dying mother's neck and the ravages of war on men's bodies. I also didn't appreciate the smoking and drinking.
For an Anne of Green Gables fan, the movie is a huge disappointment.
For someone wanting a relatively clean, relatively wholesome movie, the movie will be great.

I love all of the Anne movies, but this is the perfect conclusion to the trilogy!!! I highly recommend all the Anne of Green Gables movies!!!

I like this movie because it has a good story line. I watched most of it when I was really young. I bought it so I could own it on dvd.

Anne of Green Gables - The Continuing Story is as charming as the original movie. It is in keeping with the story line started with the original. The characters are enjoyable and believable. The scenery and costumes are wonderful. The series of movies are wonderful for children and families. We spent and enjoyable week have a couple hours of Anne of Green Gables each evening. It is worth rewatching and sharing with others. Very refreshing.

I love the movie, but I was scammed by the seller, never received my DVD!!! I have tried to get my money back, but have been unsuccessful! there are so many twists and turns along the way of getting my money back that I got tired of working at it.

I started watching Anne with my grandma who passed away 8 years ago when I was a little girl. It always reminds me of my grandma when I watch it. We'd laugh, cry and watch the movie over and over together. Anne is a neat person. I recommend this movie to everyone! Awesome movie!!!!!

A timeless classic that speaks to your heart on so many levels, wheather you 8 or 80! Girls you will laugh and cry, great chick flic... sensitive guys will like it too!

I have been looking for this part because I have the two previous part and I could not find this until I came into ebay. I haven't seen the movie but I am more than sure I will love just like the other two parts.

The entire trilogy is fabulous and great family viewing. Especially impressive is the fact that the same actors appeared in the different movies even though they span over several years.

My daughter was disappointed with the lack of storyline true to Montgomery's books and rather poor writing. She loved seeing all the same actors back.

If you have followed Anne Shirley's story like I have, you'll find that this is the best movie of them all. I highly recommend this to complete your Anne Shirley collection.

As far as sequels go it was terrific. It was fun to watch Anne and Gilbert grow up. It was a compelling story. Acting was well done. Great story.

I have enjoyed all of the stories of Anne of Green Gables. I love the scenery and the story is so touching. I have had the priviledge of visiting Prince Edward Island and it is just that beautiful. This is really a story of love and devotion to each other, Anne and Gilbert. L. Fisbhurne
