This is the diary of the most courageous fourteen-year-old girl to ever live.
Anne Frank lived during the time of World War II, when you could be killed or put in a concentration camp for being Jewish -- or for not being blue-eyed and blonde. Hitler was ignorant in thinking that those with blue eyes and blonde hair were of the superior race, and anyone else should be killed.
Anne and her family went into hiding in 1942 and managed to hide for over two years.
Was Hitler finally overruled or was the family found by the Gestapo (the police that worked for Hitler)? Read this novel about a normal teenager in hiding to find out.
This is a really good book to read if you want to learn more about World War II, or simply about being courageous and living a life in hiding. Also, not only is this novel about the war but also about how Anne grows up and discovers life and writing.
I bought this book as I had loved reading it as a young girl. I am looking forward to re reading it. It has left a long lasting mark on my heart all these years. Annd now I am excited about having my children read it!! A MUST READ BOOK!
This is a wonderful book. It is so touching that some good can come from something so tragic. I really thought it would be difficult to read this book in a day to day diary format but I was wrong. I just felt like you could go through it with her and understand more of the emotions of the time. Outstanding story.
This is a VERY touching and informative story of the GARBAGE from the WWI Era, thanks to the NAZIS!! If YOU really care about children, history, and LOTS more, you MUST read this.
Sorry for this brief synopsis, but this sums it up in a nutshell!!
READ this book!*!
I initially had read it for the first time in High School..its one of those GREAT & touching stories I ALWAYS read once again!!
Do yourself and your CHILDREN a favor: READ THIS!!
This is a terrific book on many counts - not the least of which is the sophisticated writing by a life ended for no reason. My daughter (13) is reading it now, and has commented on what measures people took to survive the Holocaust. The book is making her feel very lucky to be alive. I recommend it highly - along with lots of discussion. It's not easy to swallow that this young woman didn't survive.
I purchased this book out of curiosity since this is one of the most recognized and recommended pieces of literature work. I was very pleased with it and it was a moving and inspiring book; however, I was more interested in learning about the life and biography of this young woman. This is strictly diary entries from Anne Frank during the holocaust.
I bought this book for my granddaughter. She specifically requested this book. I think she is still reading it. So far she is really enjoying it, and asks questions. She is 8 years old and loves to read.
This book was in great condition when recieved. Speedy delivery. I really love this story and had been looking for the book for a long time. The great price is one more reason I decided to purchase it.
i was younger when i read this book, but i was actually quite interested in it because it was amazing to see how people actually lived back in the war times. my family originated in hungary and my great grandfather died in the war so it was really interesting, yet sad to read. i think everyone should read it no matter how old you are, it will make you value your life that much more.
I ordered to book for my girl friend, for an english class that she has. I recieved to book in about 2-3 days of ordering it. The book was used but it was kept in great condition. I seem to always get things in good if not excellent condition, when I oreder it from EBay. The prices are fair & reasoable.
This book is by far the saddest and most recommended read ever about a 13 old year Holocaust victim Anne whose father survived Nazi concentration camp. A Journal that was gift from her father and written daily on their survival in a cramped attic was long found by him. He wanted the whole world to know her story and how it felt to be in fear of the atrocities surrounding them. I truly was amazed at the Franks courage and scariest time in all history never to be repeated ever.
