Anne of Avonlea

When my daughter was young, the Anne of Avonlea series came on the Disney Channel. She and I started watching the Anne of Green Gables series which then advanced to the Anne of Avonlea series. Even at the early age of 6, my daughter and I absolutely loved both series. My daughter (now 22) wanted to order both series for a professor of hers at the university from which she just graduated. It was a thank you gift for the professor's support throughout 4 years. We were delighted that ebay had copies of both series. In fact, I may reorder them again for my mother who fell in love with Prince Edward Island on a recent trip. After my daughter's recent order, I pulled out the old VHS tape I recorded from the Disney Channel 16 years ago and was once again "hooked" -- this time as an experienced parent. I watched the tape alone, yet found myself laughing outloud at Anne's melodramatic nature and ridiculous antics, relating with her hatred of being a freckled redhead, and crying about the close relationships she formed. Both series are a classic for all ages. I highly recommend both. They are heartwarming and timeless.
