Animals by Pink Floyd (CD, Apr-2000, Capitol/EMI Records)

This whole album is one of the greatest Pink Floyd albums of all time. They have really made such a perfect concept here. Pigs, Dogs, and Sheep is general idea here, and the fact we all fit into one of these categories. Pigs make the rules, Dogs enforce the rules, and sheep follow the rules.

Close but No Cigar, "The Wall" and "Piper At The Gates"

"Animals" is the most under-rated and obscure offering from Floyd. It surprises me that even Floyd fans are generally unaware, or ignorant of this album.... It shows signs of Waters gliding into his depression - which is not really welcome...., but Gilmour saves the day with some of his most inspired guitar work on record. "Animals" has a heavy edge and it comes off really good. It took me a long, long time before I had managed to understand "Animals", but as of now it's one of my fave Floyd offerings.

I've been a Pink Floyd fan since the 70's, and Animals is a great Album. Sandwiched between such classic masterpieces as Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall, Animals was often overlooked. It was 1977, and Punk Music was all the rage. Pink Floyd was one of the punks biggest targets, which they referred to as "Dinosaur Rock." So what does Pink Floyd do? Put out a cerebral album with lyrics based on George Orwell's "Animal Farm"! Brilliant!Boasting five songs, (three of which were over 10 minutes in length!)Pink Floyd delighted in raising a big middle finger to their tormentors! This is one album that didn't receive much airplay on 3-minute song commercial radio! Truly a brilliant, uncompromising effort!

EVENTHOUGH IT ONLY HAS 4-5 SONGS ON IT I BELIEVE IT IS SOME OF RODGER WATERS BEST WORK. I COMPARE IT TO THE WALL. DAVID GILMORES' PLAYING SHOWES WHY HE IS ONE OF THE BEST OUT THERE,

This is a classic LP(in my time that is what we called these or albums) which has great listening music throughtout the entire CD. I would recommend this and other Pink Floyd classics to the ones that grew up with this type of music.

I love the old pink floyd and allways wanted this cd and at this price i couldent go wrong . The guitar rips the beat kicks if you have to ask you need to listen once you either love it or you dont get it

awesome album.............one for everyone's collection! One of pink floyd's gems...........i especially enjoy the song pigs........it's great for after you've been accosted or pulled over......

My favorite Pink Floyd album- hands down. A dark and mysterious feeling and several 10+ minute songs make this CD great.

how old it truly is by listening. sounds like new.

This is one of my fav Pink Floyd albums, so I got it as a Chrismas present for my stepdad. It's really kind of a short album, but with this one, it's all about the quality, not the quantity. The songs are really mellow, mostly acoustic, with the trademark psychedelia that Pink Floyd is famous for. A must have for your music collection.

excellent transaction, as advertised, cd plays well is in good condition no skips overall very good.
