Underrated Classic by Pink Floyd

This is probably one of the most underrated albums by Pink Floyd. Many critics seem to pass this awesome album up and look ahead to Dark side of the moon and the wall. Animals is a wonderful album, but only if you listen to it in the whole. It doesn't have the singles type of songs as The Wall has, but more of a collective musical piece. The songs are just utterly amazing and the music evolves throughout the album.
This and Pipers at the Gates of Dawn are Pink Floyd's best albums. Love it.

Animals is a good album but certainly not on my top 10 list of Pink Floyd CDs. It is well rounded with mellow acoustic tracks and some rocking tunes (sheep) but nothing stands out enough to push it into "excellent" territory. Maybe it's just not strange or quirky enough for me. Whatever the reason, this one only gets 3 1/2 stars.
