Animal, a very over looked single; 2 live tracks

Two versions of Animal...no B-sides
Pearl Jam are one of the few bands around that can play heavy riff rock. I'm not talking about boring, 4-power-chords-and-out songs. Pearl Jam had mastered groove-oriented hard riff-rock songs by their second album, Vs. The first single, "Go", was a glorious example, as was "Animal". Weighing in at just two minutes and forty-seven seconds (2:47), the song is a melodic churner that charges out of the gates. The song is based around one chord but has more parts and layers than any other single you'll hear on the radio. Vedder growls the vague lyrics leading to the refrain "I'd rather be with an.

2 live tracks we've heard a million times
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 against 1. With this redundant single you get to hear that wonderful opening line not once, but twice! Yes, folks, Pearl Jam was kind enough to put TWO versions of Animal on this one single. There is the studio version and a live version recorded in Atlanta in 1994. This is the same show where the live tracks on the Dissident single were recorded. You will also get a live performance of Jeremy on this disc from the same show. My problem with this single is that anyone who would want to buy it at this point most likely already has the Atlanta 94 show on tape or cd. It was...
