Animal Crossing: City Folk & Wii Speak Bundle (Wii, 2008)

My daughter received City Folk for Christmas and hasn't stopped playing it since. She's about to be 17 yrs old and I'm 40 but we both get a real kick out of it. She's even ignored her 3 other new video games that she really, really wanted for Christmas. The Wii speak has been working really well -- we just need her friends to get one too so they can actually speak back and forth, not just listen to us. When we first started playing the game, we thought we would tire of it in a week or so--that we would get stuck in ruts or run out of things to do, but the game is always providing something new to do, and pretty soon you find yourself having hectic days just as in real life--so many things that need to be done! The nice thing is the players have the freedom to be lazy or hardworking, greedy or generous, etc. Overall the game is very soothing: you can choose to go fishing whenever you want and it's sometimes like real life fishing -- just standing around with a pole in your hand, listening to the waves and waiting for a bite. The game also has a decent amount of humor and lots of "Oh, wow, that's so cute." I could go on and on, but will just say that this is a great game for all ages and would be the perfect game for grandparents to play with their grandkids--simple enough for everyone to understand but complex enough to keep it interesting.

KIDS LOVE IT, THEY CAN MAKE FRIENDS AND SPEAK WITH THEM ALL OVER THE U.S. BY USING THE MIC THAT COMES WITH THE BUNDEL. ITS CHEAPER BUYING THE BUNDEL INSTEAD OF PURCHASING THE GAME AND MIC SEPARET. YOU NEED WIRELESS INTERNET TO GET THE FULL USE OF THE GAME AND FEATURES.

This is a great game for anyone that loves the original. Bright and colorful in a larger screen. Fun for all ages.

This game is the best game ever for the wii. My wife and I play this game non stop everyday. The game has alot of features and is really fun to play. I would recommend this game to anyone who wants to have fun.

Purchased for grandchildren, aged 6 1/2 and 10 1/2 ... boy and girl, respectively~~each has enjoyed the game ... It was not clear, to me, what the Wii Speak was ... the children do not use that product. It was their understanding (from more knowledgable parents) the Wii Speak is to use with their friends...if their friends do not have the game the product is useless. Nevertheless, they've enjoyed the game.

I love this game!!! It is so much fun to decorate your house and design clothes. I love going fishing and you don't even have to get your hands all smelly. I'm totally addicted.

I love this game. This is the most fun game to play. Who ever came up with this game is so inventive. I love it. It is so fun to go through the seasons, to be able to create your own town and interact with your neighbors. It would be nice to be able to have a multiplayer version for people in the same house without using the WIFI but it doesn't detract that much from the game. This has quickly become my favorite game ever. I have been playing it daily since I got it. The graphics could be a little better but everything else makes up for it. The best part is being able to visit other towns by using the Nintendo WIFI (requires your friends to have the same game).

My husband and I originally bought this game for my son for Christmas because he loves Animal Crossing and Wii. He loves to play all kinds of games, sometimes with his Dad. I am not much of a gamer myself, but when this game showed up in our house and my son started playing it, I sat down one day and watched how it was played. I began learning about it and I am hooked!!! My husband, myself and my son play all the time. There are times I play for hours straight. It is very addicting and very fun. I highly recommend it, but beware... if you have a lot of time on your hands, you will be in front of the t.v. for hours. If you don't have a lot of time, you'll want to make some.

This is the most entertaining game for the entire family. My 12yr old got it for Christmas and has has the whole family playing with there own personal guys. This is so easy and so close to real life it is amazing. You can have hours of fun playing or watching this game. Watching this game is better than watching TV for kids. You don't have to sit to play the game you can be up moving around and catching fish like you would actually reel them in. Highly recommended to kids of all ages. We had a 6 yr old playing to a 63yr old.

New item this game is addicting so be careful. My husband does not like games and he played animal crossing just because i wanted someone besides me in my town and now I have had to buy his own wii and a game of animal crossing just so I can get on to play also.

Kids love this game. They are playing all the time. The ages of them are 13,11, and 4. Not that the 4 yr old is as good as the older kids. She still likes it though. I would say it is for all kids and adults also. You will enjoy this game.

I had just bought my Wii system and had heard that "Animal Crossing: City Folk" was a great game, and I agree - - It's SO MUCH FUN! I like that I can use the "Mii" that I created for myself in this game, since you apparently can't do that with all games (Or if you have, I haven't figured out how yet.) I still have LOTS to figure out about this game (which is why I HIGHLY recommend buying the official Game Guide, sold separately - - VERY informative!), but I'm really enjoying it. I'm looking forward to making friends with other people who play, because I'm sure it will be fun to communicate with other people from different towns and not just the characters who come with the game and live in your own town. TWO THUMBS UP!

Love this game, there is no violence, no shooting, no difficult moves required. The most difficult task is catching the fish and bugs. Just wish you could make the chat go faster:P

I love this game always have always will. for a kids game it's awesome. Only had it for a couple of days and only have 10 more fish to catch to complete the list.

My family loves this game and the Wii speak channel makes it easy and fun to communicate with our friends and family all over the U.S. using the sound altereations on the Wii speak game channel. This game allows children to not only play but, learn! This is a very interactive game in which teaches children how to read, the importance of nature, responsablity for ones self and surroundings as well as a caring for other people. It also enables the user to interact with other users. By means of which are through the internet. My six year old son loves the fact that he can play as well as talk to his cousin in New Jersey while we are in Florida. The speaker (Wii Speaker some come with this game) is located on top of his television so that he can just talk with nothing on his head and his cousin in another state is able to talk back as well as play "in the same town" that he is in. The town is very realistic and requires upkeep. You have people in the town that can "move" out if your grass isnt cut, or you just arent maintaing "your" town. You are able to fish, dig holes, find treasures, and have yard sales, buy different items for your home. The player is in control of the town he/she creates. Other players are able to move in/out of "your" town. I recommend this game for players of all ages! It's even fun for adults too! My son and I will keep playing all the while reinforcing the educational aspect of reading! Great Game!!!!
