Angel Heart (DVD, 2004)

Just a tremendous display of talent from Director Alan Parker, Celebrated actors Bobby de Niro, Charlotte Rampling and Mickey Rourke... Excelent theme, to betray your own conscience and living haunted by guilt, you can change your name, adress, memory but something within will always catch up with you, that's how I see Private Investigator Harry Angel (Rourke) relation with Louis Cyphre ( De Niro). Excelent, very entertaining 1940's investigation story with a mystical scent, not really an action investigation movie like L.A. Confidential or an horror paranormal movie either, much better than that, a classic sober masterpiece with Rourke's best performance ever and De Niro always at his best.

I love this movie! I was reminded of it when the Wrestler with Mickey Rourke was in the news. I bought the special edition off ebay with a new commentary by Rourke and real voodoo practioners. I love the themes of evil, witchcraft, voodoo, greed and the price paid for it! I'd say this is a timeless cult classic, though I do not know which cult would claim it. I am pleased to have it in my collection of dvds.

Love Mickey "Rourke and the fact that it was set in scenic New Orleans. I bought it b/c I saw it before and it was excellent

I originally saw this movie when it first came out. I believe it was the mid 1980's. I then watched it on cable a couple of times. It is definitely in my top ten movies if all time. Mickey Rourke shines in this New York Private Eye goes to New Orleans Suspense Thriller. I has it all, Voo Doo, Murder, Sex ... and a really strange twist at the end. It is set in the mid 1950's, also featuring Robert De Niro and Lisa Bonet. If you like movies like Pulp Fiction, The Shinning, American History X, The Blues Brothers... then you are on the same page as me. I have not bought many DVD's maybe 8-10. This is really one to have and watch once evry couple of years.

I have looked for Angelheart on DVD for years and finally found it on ebay. Great movie and looks great on DVD. Nuff said!!!

I Love Mickey Rourke and Robert de Niro is my icon 2 of them together is VERY VERY good.EXCELLENT filem Mickey is great and De Niro is also GREAT what more one would want? JUST EXCELLENT no words to describe. charlotte Rampling with a small role but is lovely too.

It was a pleasure to watch again Mickey Rourke (in his heyday)playing opposite Robert DeNiro. Although at the time of the movie release it was quite bloody I enjoyed Mickey Rourke's portrayal of a 50's private detective hired by "Louis Cypher," played by Robert DeNiro.

The dvd has a personal interview of Mickey Rourke giving his comments about the various movies he did before and after persuing his boxing career in between acting. Also good was a video history of voodoo with various voodoo experts.

I remember watching this movie and loving it when it came out. After watching it again, I can say it is one of my favorite movies. The scenes are beautiful.
