The Andy Griffith Show - The Complete First Season (DVD, 2004, 4-Disc Set)

I LOVE this first season DVD set. I own this and it is worth every penny we paid for it(you can get season DVD's usually for about a total of $30 if you shop around on eBay.) If you think about it, this actually isn't expensive at all. It is $1-2 per episode, which is well worth it as these hold their value and are very organized.

We used to have piles of video tapes and replaced them with this DVD set and the others, and we LOVE it. We can easily find episodes and scenes that we want. We can find something that we want to see in a minute or less. Don Knotts developes and streamlines his hilarious skills in this first season DVD set.

Between Barney's funny comments and actions, and Andy's calm, cool personality, the contrast make what I think is the funniest show in the history of TV!!!!! Opie is young in this first season, in which he isn't as funny or as good for the show as later years, but hey, they all have to start somewhere.

With this set comes original sponsor spots(commercials done by the Andy Griffith Show cast) as a special feature and they are very fun to see. It is great seeing Andy, Barney, etc. do commercials for Post toasties and Sanka coffee. Each sponsor spot corresponds with the show that it was played with.

It was in new and in perfect playing condition. I decided to buy it because I'm a big Andy Griffith fan. It was a fun DVD and wrapped very well. Would buy from this ebayer again. Hope he has more Andy Griffith DVD's. Ebayer very professional and gives feedback as necessary and timely.

The values set forth in the Andy Griffith show still hold up today. Join Andy, Barney, Opie, Aunt B, Gomer, Floyd the Barber and all the gang in Mayberry for a lot of fun and good stories too.

Great Product-ideal gift, excellent quality and value. I loved the show as a kid and now my 9 year old daughter is enjoying tv the way it should be.

While I do enjoy what I got. I only received 1 disc not the entire set as I thought I was buying. The episodes I did receive are very good.

I like doing business with them because I recieved my item in a prompt time .Also the item is of a very good quality.

I like the "old" moral values this series instills. Wouldn't it be nice if we could re-live this era?

These shows are great to see again. It's like seeing them for the first time. The uncut version of the shows is the only way to watch them. No commercials and you get to see how they were meant to be seen. You miss so many things on the cut versions.. and Opie is hilarious lol. Thanks

We now have the first 5 seasons and the quality of the all the DVD's is amazing. They have been re-mastered and ALL the show is on the individual episodes. Even TV commercials that featured the cast were included as a bonus. It's very interesting to see how the network versions have been butchered after watching these DVD's and just how much of the shows have been cut out. Sound is great and you'll definitely enjoy the entire run of the Andy Griffith Show if you purchase these sets!

The Andy Griffith show is one of the absolute best family shows that was ever produced. My 10 year old daughter is crazy about the show & I actually bought this set for her. There is humor that can tickle the funny bone of every member of the family. There is never anything objectionable, so you don't have to sit there with your finger on the mute button if your kids are watching. I ahve seasons 1 & 2 now & plan to buy more. I love the dvd's because they have the WHOLE episode (TV cuts out a few minutes each time it is aired) and they also have extra little tidbits, like commercials that were done with the cast & odds & ends of trivia in the dvd cases. Highly recommended.
