Andrew Lloyd Webber's Celebration (DVD, 2001)

A good buy, arrived well-packaged. I decided to buy it because it does not seem that Lloyd Webber is doing much at the present and I wanted to add his works to
my collection.

I've enjoyed playing Webber's music on my piano and one day I decided to see what was available on DVD. This "celebration" has become my all-time favorite. Some of the artists are new to me but there are some old favorites. Donny Osmond sings two songs with a large number of children. Antonio Banderas shows off his voice. Glenn Close is the highlight of the show performing as Norma Desmond from "Sunset Boulevard". Sarah Brightman sings her hits from "Phantom of the Opera". Near the end Dame Kiri Te Kanawa is introduced by Andrew Lloyd Webber himself. I've had this DVD six weeks or so and I've played it at least ten times. I assure you this will be the most entertaining two hours that money can buy.

The production values for each song were spectacular...The continuity was flawless and smooth...The setting and lighting was stunning...The camera work imaginative and professional...The DVD captures all with clear and resonate sound, beautiful color, and extra tracks that add to the enjoyment of this special treat from London.
Even my cat loved this production, although the song list did not include anything from " Cats " other than " Memory ", beautifully sung by Sarah Brightman.

If you are a fan of ALW, or if you just love music, this DVD will fulfill everything you desire in a well-managed and beautifully produced extravaganza.

I saw this when it came on PBS in 2001. I loved it. The performances were totally amazing. This is a must have!

This is a must for people who enjoys Andrew Lloyd Webber's music pieces. The orchestra is wonderful, the singers are the original one whose performance caused the music to be popular by the people. The costum and stage arrangement are excellent. The singers change their outfit and hairstles to fit the music which they are singing. My family and I enjoy the whole program and wish it is longer or there is another available. This is one of the two DVD music performances that our family treasures.

This was top quality and not a cheap remake. I bought it because I had seen this video from my brother who owned it. I enjoyed it so much that I decided I wanted to own it. There is nothing negative to say about it.
