When they take in a seal--lost and separated from his brood--and name it Andre, Harry and Tony nurse the personable creature back to health. Soon they discover that the animal has changed their lives as much as they've changed his. Unfortunately, a certain member of the town has a particular dislike for seals and will do his best to see that Andre is sent far, far away.

Reviews Review created: 04/08/08 by: This movie quite accurately captures the look and feel of 1960's era Maine along the coast in the lobster fishing villages (which by the way my mom and dad remember, having lived in the Bar Harbor area), is wholesome and clever, being based on a true story. The entire family will find it entertaining. Although I bought this for my 10-year-old son, even my teenage daughters thought it was good. The seal and its antics steal the show as does the scenic Maine coastline and charming inhabitants of an earlier more innocent period. Yes, even the curmudgeonly character of Billy Baker gave the film an element of drama and realistic conflict. A great slice of Americana...dig in! It shows how an animal is determined to be with friends not matter what it takes and no matter how far he/she has to travel and not worrying about the weather conditions as well. Don't have anything bad to say about this movie and would recommend it to friends or anyone else who asks me about it. Review ID: 10000000006430594 Was this review helpful? It was delivered on a timely matter. Thank you Review ID: 10000000004813812 Was this review helpful? Report this review 0 of 2 people found this review helpful. Although the DVD was in very good condition, it took over a week for me to receive it, even though they charged me FIRST CLASS MAIL. Unlike the other DVD that I bought (Fly Away Home) which I received it in three days flat. I am not happy with this seller's shipping methods. Review ID: 10000000003079048 Was this review helpful? The little girl loves the seal like a best friend (better friends than any of her peers that don't seem to be living in the same world as her). Great movie for children of all ages.
